The following applies ONLY if you receive communication from the college stating that you are being considered for the next stage of the admission process (the divisional select process).

Application Questionnaire Instructions

Complete the Application Questionnaire form below. It is designed to describe your future career objectives and intentions in the Interaction Design and Development program. It provides information to assist the Academic Review Committee in assessing your potential for success in the program.

The Application Questionnaire is to be completed solely by the applicant and should be written in English.

Portfolio Instructions

Note: Portfolio is required for intakes.

In the form below, include a link to a web-site, UNLOCKED (free access) Google Drive or Dropbox folder containing samples from your personal portfolio. A portfolio should display your talent, potential and range of skills. It provides us with insight into your ability to follow instructions and organization. 

Portfolios should include a maximum of 12 diverse pieces of your best creative work from the categories listed below

  • Digital Work
    • Web and mobile apps design, technical drawings, wireframes, user interface design, 2D photo manipulations, 3D artwork and animations, illustrations. 
  • Research papers
    • Human factors, human machine & computer interaction, psychology. 
  • Technology projects
    • Websites, apps, software, robotics 
  • Typography
    • Layouts that combine text and images – posters, magazine covers, brochures, advertisements 
  • Traditional Art
    • Life drawing, sketches, paintings, sculpture, photography 

Results

Your confidential results will be submitted by the School of Design to the Admissions Office upon review of your Application Questionnaire. The Admissions Office will then make a decision on your application and you will receive notification via email and by mail if you are successful. Please allow at least a week for the review and submission of your results to the Admissions Office. Please check stuview.georgebrown.ca (application summary page) for an update on your status. If you do receive an offer of admission, you should accept it on www.ontariocolleges.ca as soon as possible to reserve your seat in the program.

STATEMENT OF INTEREST

Write a Statement of Interest based on the following questions (500 to 750 words maximum). Describe your future career objectives and why you wish to take the Interaction Design and Development Program.

  • What is your definition of Interaction Design?
  • Where do you see yourself working in the future?
  • Are you interested in designing applications, websites, or wearable devices?
  • Why do you think you are a good candidate for this program?
  • Explain past experiences and future interests in art, design, or other related fields.
All new, full-time, first-entry Interaction Design students enrolling for the 2021-22 academic year will be automatically considered for a School of Design entrance bursary valued at $500.
 
Entrance bursaries are awarded on the basis of the applicant's portfolio submission, and/or supporting documentation.
 
Kindly provide a short (100-200 word) statement on why you are deserving of the funds, and how the entrance scholarship would assist you in the upcoming academic year.
