In his December 18 column, Star writer Matt Elliott explores George Brown's vital role in the expanding eastern waterfront and how the city can help the college ramp up affordable student housing.

Our programs are highly responsive to industry needs and are developed in close consultation with our many partners across Toronto, Canada and the globe.

This partnership will support education transformation as well as talent and skills development. To launch this partnership, GBC commits C$20,000 in educational bursary funding to be made available to Barbadian students for 2024-25.

“We were very happy to provide elementary teachers with an up-close look at what skilled trades training looks like and the meaningful careers it can lead to,” said Kizzy Rodney, George Brown’s Associate Vice-President of External and Community Relations.

"I wish each and every one of you a holiday season filled with joy, surrounded by the love of family and friends. May it pave the way for a happy and healthy start to 2024, a year I know will be full of new opportunities and successes."

The acquisition is part of GBC’s long-term strategic expansion to provide more modern learning space for students, further solidifying our place as Ontario's urban college and an anchor in the growing East Bayfront community.

Minister Smith got a firsthand look at exciting progress underway at Limberlost Place with a construction-site tour, followed by a mass-timber roundtable discussion with industry experts.

With state-of-the-art technology and facilities, real-world experience, and faculty and clinical staff who work in the field, George Brown College's Centre for Health Sciences develops tomorrow's health-care workforce.
