Test and term dates
Upon registration, students take a Level Placement Test to see which level of the program they will start in. Test dates and term start and end dates for the current year are listed below.

*Students must bring their payment receipt and immigration document (PR card, study permit, visitor visa) to take the placement test. The test will be approximately 3 hours in length, and will assess: reading, writing, listening, and grammar. The placement test is free as part of program registration.
The placement test date and location will be provided in the Registration and Invoice Package. This package will be sent out to students who have received and accepted the offer.

Note: Students either take the George Brown College EAP level placement test or choose to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo for level placement into the EAP program, but they may not choose more than one. Once the choice is made, it is final. The IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo score report must be achieved within (2) years prior to the EAP program session start date and must be submitted before the session start date.
The School of ESL accepts the IELTS Academic test for EAP program level placement. The IELTS General test is not accepted.
NEW (May 2020): For current or returning EAP students who suspend their studies for more than five (5) consecutive 8-week sessions, they must retake the EAP placement test or submit a IELTS/TOEFL/Duolingo placement test result in order to be placed back into the program.
