World Mental Health Day is marked every year on October 10 with the goal of raising awareness about mental health issues and advocating for increased supports. The focus for 2019 is suicide prevention. According to the World Health Organization, one
person dies by suicide every 40 seconds.
For this year’s World Mental Health Day, people are being encouraged to take 40 seconds of action to improve awareness, reduce stigma associated with suicide and provide support to people who may be struggling. Learn more at who.int .
