Biography

Douglas Walker is a professor at George Brown College in the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management. He teaches in the Honours Bachelor of Technology (Construction Management) and Technology Diploma programs. He has also developed and taught a variety of code and design courses for the Ontario Building Officials Association, University of Toronto, Seneca College, Toronto Homebuilders Association, Mushkegowuk First Nations Council, Mattamy Homes, City of Toronto and various other industry associations. Prior to his current full-time faculty position, he was the Manager and Deputy Chief Building Official at the City of Toronto for twenty years. In addition, Mr. Walker has been involved in building design and code consulting. Douglas Walker holds a master’s degree from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree from Ryerson University Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science. In addition, he is a member of several professional associations registered in the Province of Ontario.
