We’ve established two funds to help offset financial impacts students have experienced due to the strike – the Student Strike Relief Fund and the Travel Reimbursement Fund.
Students can apply to either the Student Strike Relief Fund or the Travel Reimbursement Fund, not both.
Student Strike Relief Fund
The Student Strike Relief Fund provides assistance for students who have experienced financial impacts as a result of the strike. The fund is consistent with the framework developed by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development in consultation with student leaders and colleges. Students may be eligible for up to a maximum payment of $500 in assistance for travel, living, childcare and other expenses.
Visit the Student Strike Relief Fund page to learn more about eligibility criteria, required supporting documentation and deadlines.
Students can apply for this fund until April 27, 2018.
Travel Reimbursement Fund
Students who booked and paid for travel between December 15, 2017 and December 22, 2017 before November 6th, 2017 may be eligible for compensation through our Travel Reimbursement Fund.
Visit the Travel Reimbursement Fund FAQ #15 to learn more about eligibility criteria, required supporting documentation and deadlines.
