We discuss pot legalization at our annual Mental Health Conference

2018 Mental Health Conference

Recreational marijuana legalization takes effect across the country on October 17, 2018 and this new law raises many important questions for members of the George Brown College community. At this year's annual Mental Health Conference on Friday, June 29, we explore the theme, Cannabis on Campus: What Now?

Representatives from organizations that focus on mental health and student well-being will share thoughts and spark conversation. The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health, along with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health, will outline its Cannabis Guidelines and Recommendations for Ontario's Campuses Toolkit. Speakers will discuss the relationship between cannabis and mental health, harm reduction strategies and other issues surrounding cannabis legalization. George Brown's student peer coaches will lead wellness activities throughout the day.
