Worried about how to pay for college? We can help!

Our Financial Aid department works tirelessly to help students find grants, bursaries and scholarships to help finance their education.

Every year George Brown distributes 670 awards totalling approximately $1.4 million in privately funded scholarships and $4.5 million in bursaries, grants and work study— all with just one application available on STU-VIEW.

Four dos and don’ts for applying

  1. Do spend your time on the application (there’s only one application and it should take about an hour to complete thoroughly).
  2. Do read ALL instructions carefully.
  3. Don’t change or alter the format of the Excel budget form you upload.
  4. Don’t shy away from answering the essay question about your financial need in as much detail as possible in the GBC Awards application. Your answers are 100 per cent confidential. In order to ensure awards are offered to those who need them most, it’s essential that we know as much as possible about your financial situation and challenges you face.
