George Brown College signs charter vowing to increase equity, diversity and inclusion in research activities

George Brown College is proud to be the first Canadian college to endorse a charter aimed at increasing equity, diversity and inclusion when it comes to research activities.

The Dimensions charter Open New Browser Window, created by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Open New Browser Window, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Open New Browser Window and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Open New Browser Window, calls on colleges and universities to take measurable and sustainable action to “counter systemic barriers, explicit and unconscious biases, and inequities.”

“This includes addressing obstacles faced by, but not limited to, women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minority or racialized groups, and members of LGBTQ2+ communities,” the charter states.

George Brown signed the charter on May 29, 2019.
