George Brown alumnus, Feroze Shah won 2018 Young Lions competition and is set to represent Canada on a global stage in Cannes.

George Brown College’s alumnus, Feroze Shah (Business Administration, Marketing), and his colleague Christian Kern, from Initiative Canada won the first place in Media Category of the 2018 Young Lions Competition. With over 200 submission from all across Canada, the bar was raised up high.

This year’s client was 60 Million Girls Foundation that provides educational services to girls in developing countries. The participating teams were given 24 or 48 hours to submit their solutions on how to raise money for the organization’s Mobile Learning Lab. Feroze’s creative solution relied on simplifying the act of donating. Just watch a video, it is that simple. His team proposed using YouTube influencers that would go to Guatemala and create videos showing the educational aspect of Mobile Learning Lab. The money raised will go towards the Foundation.

The Globe and Mail’s Young Lions competition is the gate that must be passed in order to compete in the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. We are excited to see Feroze and Christian represent Canada on a global stage at this year’s competition June 18 – 22nd.
