Canada’s Finance Minister Bill Morneau got a first-hand look at how George Brown
College trains future leaders in the culinary and hospitality sectors.
Morneau visited George Brown College on February 22 for a tour of our Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts where he checked out our state-of-the-art labs and facilities and met with students.
He also met with George Brown President Anne Sado (pictured) to discuss the college’s future plans, including the construction of our tall wood building at Waterfront Campus called The Arbour. The climate-friendly wood building will be the first project of its
kind to be built in Ontario and will be home to the Mass Timber Institute.
Construction of The Arbour is slated to begin in 2021 at Queens Quay East and Lower Sherbourne Streets.
