10 things you can do now to prepare for the fall term

Are you starting your first year at George Brown College in September and chomping at the bit to get ready for the fall term now?

Here's a list of 10 things you can do to prepare for the fall term this summer:

  1. Visit your campus.
  2. Register for fall term classes
    Web registration for full-time programs for the 2017 fall term started on July 17. Check STU-VIEW Open New Browser Window to find out what date and time you can register.

  3. Apply for a part-time job on campus
    Are you hoping to work through the school year? You can apply for a job on-campus in the summer. You can also use the college’s job listing service, GBCareers Open New Browser Window, to check for available jobs both on and off campus.

  4. Find out how to get involved in campus life
    Learn about ways you can meet new people, network and gain new skills by getting involved in campus life.
  5. Set a budget
    Check out these money management tips for students.

  6.  Submit your student ID pic
  7. Avoid lineups in September and submit a photo online for your George Brown College student ID.
     

  8. Download the George Brown College app, follow us on social media
    The George Brown College app has class lists, maps and important dates and contacts.

  9. Read the George Brown College Student Guide
  10. The student guide is a great resource. It outlines everything you need to know to get started at the college, and lists all of the services available to you, including the student health and dental plan, counselling and tutoring. The guide also provides an overview of ways you can get involved in campus life, including varsity sports and clubs.

  11. Register for orientation
  12. Orientation for new students happens the week before your first semester. These sessions are a great way to familiarize yourself with the college, meet faculty and fellow students. If you can't wait for orientation (Aug. 29 - 31) you can register for our Up & Running sessions July 24-27.

  13. Set personal goals
