Erol Özberk, BA

Erol Özberk is a customs and commodity tax consultant whose work is rooted in the world of indirect tax accounting on an international scale. Having completed his advanced certification in Freight Forward, offered by the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association, during his time at George Brown, Erol went on to write and pass his customs brokerage licence exam administered by the Canada Border Services Agency, before obtaining his certified customs specialist designation with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers. His expertise in customs, freight forwarding and accounting affords members of the import/export community the opportunity to improve efficiencies and reduce their landed costs. He works with medium to large enterprises, both foreign and domestic, including multinationals.

Erol is a passionate teacher and motivated speaker. He encourages others to push the boundaries of their individual comfort zones in an effort to realize their professional goals. Outside of the classroom, he is an active member of the George Brown College Centre for Business Program Advisory Committee. He also volunteers his time as the treasurer on the administrative board of directors for a Toronto-based non-profit artistrun media-arts centre, LeLabo.
