Scholarship Awards for New George Brown Students

You can apply for the following scholarships if you are a full-time student in a CCET program starting September 2015.

Concert Properties & Partners Entrance Award

Concert Properties Limited has graciously donated funds to George Brown College to establish the Concert Properties & Partners Entrance Award. 5 awards of $3000 will be presented to full-time students entering T126, T146, or T171 in September, 2015 who demonstrate financial need on their application.

To apply for the Concert Properties & Partners Entrance Award students must submit the following four documents to awards@georgebrown.ca, or in person at any of the Student Services offices, by Monday, September 21st, 2015

  • Completed CCET Entrance Scholarship Application form PDF icon
  • A resume outlining education and extracurricular activities
  • A one-page essay outlining your professional and personal goals, your leadership qualities, and how the award will impact your studies.
  • A letter of reference from a high school guidance counsellor or a community member if you are not currently attending high school.

B.O.L.T. Charitable Foundation Entrance Award

Tridel has graciously donated funds to George Brown College to establish the B.O.L.T. Charitable Foundation Entrance Award. 3 awards of $3000 will be presented to full-time students entering T105, T109, T110, T121, T126, T132, T146, T160, T162, T164, T171, T172, T173, T312, T403 or T408 who demonstrate significant economic disadvantages or adversities on their application.

Students must complete one of the following criteria to be eligible for the award:

  • Attend the Tridel Day of Discovery
  • A two-week job shadow
  • A high school program related to the trades
  • Two months of work experience in the construction industry

To apply for the BOLT (Tridel & Partners) Entrance Scholarship students must submit the following documents to awards@georgebrown.ca, or in person at any of the Student Services offices, by Monday, September 21st, 2015.

  • A one page statement that outlines your passion for your field of study and explains any personal or financial barriers that you have faced in pursuit of your education.

CIBC B.O.L.T. Entrance Award

CIBC has graciously donated funds to George Brown College to establish the CIBC B.O.L.T. Entrance Award. 2 awards of $3000 will be presented to full-time students entering T105, T109, T110, T121, T126, T132, T146, T160, T162, T164, T171, T172, T173, T312, T403 or T408 who demonstrate significant economic disadvantages or adversities on their application.

Students must complete one of the following criteria to be eligible for the award:

Paul & Gerri Charette Student Assistance Entrance Award  

Paul & Gerri Charette have graciously donated funds to George Brown College to establish the Paul & Gerri Charette Student Assistance Entrance Award. One award of $3000 will be presented to a full-time student entering T105, T161, T164, or T312 who demonstrates financial need on their application.

To apply for the Paul & Gerri Charette Entrance Award students must submit the following documents to awards@georgebrown.ca, or in person at any of the Student Services offices, by Monday, September 21st, 2015.

  • Completed CCET Entrance Scholarship Application form PDF icon
  • A one-page essay that describes professional and personal goals, how the bursary will impact these goals, and a demonstration of their leadership qualities, including volunteer activities.
  • A letter of reference from a high school guidance counsellor if coming from high-school or from a member of the community in which the student resides (for example, example the clergy, community organization, etc. if the student is not coming directly from high school).

Temple Harris Award of Excellence  

Tim Harris has graciously donated funds to George Brown College to establish the Temple Harris Award of Excellence. 1 award of $3000 will be presented to a full-time student entering T312 who demonstrates financial need on their application.

To apply for the Paul & Gerri Charette Entrance Award students must submit the following documents to awards@georgebrown.ca, or in person at any of the Student Services offices, by Monday, September 21st, 2015.
