Return to Campus

Our Phased Approach: Re-Orient, Re-Engage, Return

This Return to Campus Guide will be the foundation for our team as we work towards Re-orientation, Re-engagement, and a Return to campus. At every stage, we remain in service to our students. Decisions around academic and service models as well as workplace flexibility options will be determined by what is best for our students.

A phased, gradual approach

Returning to the workplace won’t happen with the flip of a switch. This transition will be phased and gradual, and departments will be able to set their own pace over the next few weeks and months.

As teams return to the college, we are committed to maintaining a strong emphasis on protecting the health and safety of our employees.

What To Expect: Fall 2022

Why Return To The Workplace?

To support our students:

Our student population is shifting back to in-person experiences at each of our campuses. From a service perspective, we want students to get the best possible experience. By returning to campus, we can provide support and service solutions that allow students to have face-to-face communications and engaging connections.

To support our community:

George Brown is more than just a place to work. We are a community of like-minded individuals all working towards student success. Over the past several months we have worked and collaborated online. Now it’s time to come together and build upon our culture of student success.

With in-person interactions, we can further build our relationships with colleagues and students, and have greater opportunities to innovate. Through collaborating in-person, we can strengthen our George Brown culture and build upon the loyalty and trust we have in each other and in our organization.

To support our economy:

George Brown is a key member of Toronto’s economy and we play an instrumental role in the recovery of our city, post-pandemic. The City of Toronto offers:

“Small and medium-sized businesses (under 500 employees) make up over 99 per cent of all the businesses in our city and employ about 80 per cent of Torontonians. When you shop local, your dollars can be returned to the local economy, raising the level of economic activity, which creates jobs, and contributes to the local tax base which contributes to create vibrant, livable communities.”
