Biography
Winnie Kwan has worked internationally in the Fashion Industry for multinational corporations and fashion groups for over 20 years prior to teaching at George Brown College. Winnie held many senior positions and has travelled extensively for business and buying. She has attended and exhibited in numerous fashion trade shows in many fashion capitals around the world. While operating her own retail and design business in Hong Kong, she served high-end store buyers as well as retail clientele. She was invited to teach and conduct training courses for lecturers in Fashion Buying, which led to her interest in teaching.
A passionate professor, Winnie inspires her students by sharing her industrial experiences and encouraging critical thinking. She brings new original ideas in teaching and student learning and pioneered to include hands on in-class activities to promote practical learning and creativity. Winnie teaches enthusiastically and use lots of real life examples to illustrate concepts, making classroom alive.
As a professor in the School of Fashion & Jewellery, Winnie participates actively in professional development as well as contributes in various programs and events, remains as a valuable member of the faculty at GBC.
