Mark Palmer

Upon graduating from George Brown College’s Sport & Event Marketing program in 2002, Mark Palmer immediately joined the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club in an entry-level ticket sales role. After three seasons of being the sales leader amongst his peers, he was promoted to a sales management position, overseeing a team of 14 employees responsible for selling and servicing all group accounts. During Mark’s time in the role, the group sales team grew sales revenue by 30% and ranked third among 30 teams in Major League Baseball.

Mark was selected to join the American Marketing Association’s inaugural Mentor Exchange Program in 2009 as a mentee, and joined the steering committee of the program in 2010 and 2011. Using insights from that opportunity, in 2011 he proactively sought out an opportunity to advance his career in the sports industry, moving into a position in partnership sales and marketing with the Blue Jays. In his current role, Mark is responsible for driving new partnership revenue, as well as cultivating and growing existing partner accounts. Since 2011, he has been part of a team that has increased revenue by a remarkable 146%. Mark has driven and negotiated new sponsorship deals for the Blue Jays with top brands including: Tim Hortons, Nike, Boston Pizza, Maple Leaf Foods, Wrigley, Campbell’s, Acer, Dairy Queen, Weston and Pizza Nova among many others.
