Biography
Lorraine holds an Honours B.A. in Art and Art History from McMaster University specializing in bronze casting and sculpture, complemented by a Diploma in Graphic Design Communication Production from Ryerson. She has seventeen years of design, art direction and communications experience in political environments, including eight years as the Manager of Design and Production for the City of Toronto overseeing a design, production and print team. Lorraine became an R.G.D. member in 1997. She held the position of professor of Graphic Design for a year at Sheridan College before joining the design faculty at George Brown College in 2000. In 2002 she received the Crystal Apple for teaching excellence. Lorraine continues to work as a designer.
In her spare time, she maintains her passion for sculpture carving in stone, and producing bronze art medals. As the President of the Medal Arts Society of Canada and a member of FIDEM (Fédération Internationale de la Médaille d’Art ), she exhibits her bronze medals internationally.
