Biography

Amanda Memme holds a Master of Arts Degree from the School of Fashion at Ryerson University. Her research concerns the impact of technology on the contemporary fine jewellery industry – from design, to production, to marketing, to consumption.

Throughout her career, Amanda has established an interest in the personal and semiotic nature of jewellery-wearing. She has implemented interdisciplinary lenses and a mixed-method approach to create work that is at once precious, wearable, experimental, and commentative.

Amanda completed her BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing at NSCAD University in Halifax where she studied after completing her Diploma in Jewellery Arts at George Brown College.

Other Activities

Amanda has been part of various exhibitions and has been featured by different media outlets throughout Canada. She also assisted with the New York Fashion Week presentation of fashion jeweller Pamela Love in Manhattan. Working in the heart of New York City’s fashion district sparked her interest in examining the business of fashion and its impact on the contemporary jewellery industry.
