Not Specified Athlete of the Week: Dejazmatch James

Fifth-year Husky Dejazmatch James scored his 1,000th career point with the program in Wednesday night’s 94-85 semester closing win over Fleming. James scored a game-high 26 points, upping his season average to 17.7 points a night on 45.9% shooting from the floor. The physical shooting guard is among the biggest reasons that George Brown is 9-1 with a plus-122 scoring margin at the break, and eclipsing the 1,000 point mark cements his status among the best that the storied men’s basketball program has produced.

Next up for the Huskies is the east-west holiday challenge, set to run from December 29-30.

Not Specified Athlete of the Week: Aprille Deus

Point guard Aprille Deus continued her outstanding season in Friday night’s semester closing 84-65 win over Durham, a victory that sent the Huskies into the break a perfect 9-0. The 5’5” Brampton native finished with a game-high 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field to go along with five helpers. On the season Deus is now averaging 13.4 points, 6.1 assists and 4.3 steals for George Brown’s high-octane offence. She and wing Tianna Sullivan combined to form one of the province's elite duo's.

Next up the Huskies will also take on Genesee on Saturday, December 16 and Niagara on Sunday, December 17.
