Adam Costanzo finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds in Sunday's 100-93 win over Canadore.

George Brown men’s basketball overcame a lackluster first half to improve to 13-2 on Sunday afternoon, defeating Canadore 100-93 at Casa Loma.

Trailing 48-41 at the half, the Huskies jumped all over a Panther team playing their second game in as many days early in the third quarter. Recent addition De-Shaun Williams led the charge, crashing the offensive glass to great effect and pouring in 15 of his 23 points in the second half. Williams, Chris Fields and Alex Petronis all worked efficiently in transition throughout the final 20 minutes.

Dejazmatch James (18), Teshayn Gayle (14) and Adam Costanzo (13) each finished in double figures and had strong two-way games. They did a nice job defensively on high scoring Canadore guar Daniel Smalling, holding him to 10-for-24 shooting from the field.

George Brown’s bench played a big part, outscoring the Panther 49-19. The Huskies depth continues to play an outsized role in their success this season.

With the win George Brown remains a game back of Seneca for top spot in the East with five regular-season games remaining. The Huskies will play three of those five games at Casa Loma, where they have lost just once this season.

Next up the Huskies will pay a visit to Centennial on Wednesday, February 7. Follow @GBC_Huskies on twitter for updates throughout the night.
