Aprille Deus finished with a 20 point, 10 rebound double-double in Wednesday night's win over Durham.

George Brown’s women’s basketball team improved to 12-1 on Wednesday night after a convincing 78-62 win over the visiting Durham Lords.

Tianna Sullivan, currently the OCAA’s leading scorer (21 ppg), continued her dominance on the offensive end with a 23 point, seven rebound performance. Sullivan’s quickness saw her consistently beating Durham defenders off the ball, and she finished effectively down low in over 36 minutes of play. The Toronto native has clearly established her among Ontario’s most prolific scorers.

Point guard Aprille Deus controlled play from the outset, closing her night with 20 point, 10 rebound double-double. The fifth-year veteran was her usual vocal self, and did a masterful job breaking down the Lords in transition.

The duo of Sullivan and Deus have put themselves squarely in the conversation among the best duo’s not only the division, but the province.

George Brown held the Lords to 27.4% shooting from the field, forcing eleven turnovers and doing major damage defensively with their full-court press.

With the win, the Huskies magic number for clinching top spot in the east division is down to three. If George Brown can win three of their final four games, they will assure themselves the division crown. The Huskies remain undefeated on home court this season.

Next up George Brown will visit the Centennial Colts on Wednesday, February 7. Follow @GBC_Huskies on twitter for updates throughout the night. For a full look at the OCAA women’s basketball standings click here.
