George Brown badminton, currently Canada’s fourth-ranked program, will host the annual Kim Ng Open Invitational this weekend at St. James Campus.

Ace Zeng has paced the Huskies on the men’s side of things, dominating a couple of weeks ago at the Fanshawe Invitational. The first-year Husky was impressive all weekend in London, taking home a gold medal in both the men’s singles and men’s doubles competition.

“Ace shows so much promise at such a young age, and his performance as Fanshawe was a great example of that,” said second-year head coach Will Schram. “He is a player who has the ability to be special at this level.”

Teammate Yang Jin joined Zang in the men’s doubles win.

Yunji Kim is off to a nice start for the women’s team. The fifth-year Husky won a silver medal in both women’s singles and women’s doubles competition to go along with a third-place finish in mixed doubles. Kim was partnered with Ana Hoang in women’s doubles.
