Huskies volleyball will close the first semester on Wednesday night with a visit to the Centennial Colts. 

The men’s team (6-2, 2nd east) has won 21 sets against just nine losses, and can guarantee going into the break second in the division with a win.

D’Artaniel Jackman is averaging a team-best 4.2 kills per set for a total of 121 points, and the 6’4” outside hitter has been dominant at the net. The 2016-17 OCAA All-Star currently ranks fifth in the province in total attacks (264), eighth in kills (94), and sixth in service aces (14).

As a team, George Brown has established themselves among the most aggressive in the province. The Huskies 10.97 kills per set is third in the OCAA, they rank fifth in assists with 316, third in digs at 366 and sixth in hitting percentage at .247.

Centennial heads into the night 5-3; George Brown is 3-1 on the road.

The women’s team (0-8, 10th east) will look to continue to improve heading into the break.

Julia Vit leads the team averaging 2.3 points per set, and has a team-best 48 kills. Key pieces Nicole Poupart and Kelsey-Jane Lamprecht recently returned to action and figure to play important roles in the second half.

Centennial is 5-3 on the year.
