George Brown women’s basketball (8-0, 1st east) will visit the Durham Lords on Friday night looking to finish the opening semester undefeated.

The Huskies have outscored opponents by a whopping 156 points this season, and have won three consecutive games over their two closest divisional rivals. George Brown currently leads the province in steals per game, is second in points and field goals made per game, and rank fourth in both field goal percentage and attempts per game.

Wing Tianna Sullivan was just named the CCAA national player of the week after averaging 26 points and 12.5 rebounds in two wins last week, and the program’s all-time leading scorer has upped to her average to nearly 20 points and seven boards a night. The last time Sullivan faced Durham, she finished with 32 points and 15 rebounds.

Fifth-year point guard Aprille Deus has been a leader from the onset of the season, and her play at the lead guard spot has been incredible all season. Deus is leading the team in assists at 6.1 a night while shooting 88.2% from the line. Perhaps more importantly, her work off the court has been crucial in bringing the Huskies together as a group.

Durham heads into the matchup at 5-4, good for third in the east.
