Huskies men’s volleyball (5-1, 2nd east) will be looking for their sixth straight win on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Peterborough to pay the Fleming Knights a visit.

George Brown has earned a straight-set victory in three of their past five outings, and have now won 16 sets against just six losses. Second-year head coach Garrett May continues to mold the Huskies into an aggressive unit, and George Brown currently ranks third in the province in kills per set (11.18) and first in assists per set (11.32).

Newcomer Jacob Ociesa continues to grow into a larger role at the outside hitter position – over his past three outings, the Mississauga native is averaging over six points on nearly 15 attacks. Alongside All-Star D’Artaniel Jackman (4.5 pts/s) and fifth-year outside hitter Neon Ng (2.4 pts/s), George Brown is quickly establishing themselves as a fearsome group at the net.

Fleming heads into Saturday’s matchup 1-5.

The women’s team (0-6, 10th east) will look to get in the win column, and have been playing better as of late. Last weekend the Huskies put up a strong four-set fight against the previously undefeated Algonquin Thunder, led by fifth-year Ajax native Julia Vit’s seven-point performance.

First-year Husky Natasha Zimonjic continues to improve; she has at least three points in four of six outings this season, while Audrey Chau has twelve kills in her past three appearances.

Fleming’s women’s team is 1-5 on the year.

Women’s game is scheduled for 1 p.m., men’s game for 3 p.m. Follow @GBC_Huskies on twitter for updates throughout the game.
