Have you registered?

To receive an Accommodation Plan, you must be registered with Accessible Learning Services.

What is an accommodation plan?

Once you have registered with Accessible Learning Services, you will meet (virtually) with your Accessibility Consultant. You will discuss your needs and, from this, an Accommodation Plan will be created that outlines support you can receive. Your plan will be sent to your professors.

How do test accommodations work during online delivery?

Please look at the tab below that reflects your accommodation needs for instructions on how to organize your tests or exams.

Extra Time

If your Accommodation Plan says you require more time during a test or exam, please let your professor know ahead of each test to add your extra time to Blackboard, and you will take your test at the same time as the rest of your class.

Adaptive Technology

If your Accommodation Plan says you require adaptive technology during your test, for example, ReadWrite software or Kurzweil, you will need to book your test with the Assessment Centre.

Please note that the Assessment Centre requires seven days’ notice to arrange accommodations. We have asked faculty to announce tests as early as possible to help with this. Make sure to remind faculty that you will not be writing your test with the class.

You can book your test using the form below.

Reader, Scribe or Additional Accommodations

If your Accommodation Plan says you require a reader, scribe or other additional accommodations to write your test, you will need to book your test with the Assessment Centre. They will provide online invigilation with the supports you require.
