Assessment Centre Policies and Procedures

  • Students who wish to book a test in the Assessment Centre are expected to book either online, through email, through the hotline number, or in person. Please see the information on each of these options below.
  • The Assessment Centre requires 7 calendar days advance notice of test bookings. If a booking is made with less than 7 calendar days’ notice in advance, the appointment cannot be guaranteed.  If there are extenuating circumstances that you do not feel comfortable discussing with the Assessment Centre staff about, please contact your Accessibility Consultant as soon as possible.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to let their Professor know that they will be writing in the centre.
  • If one-to-one support (i.e. reader or scribe) is part of your testing accommodations and is required for a test, the Assessment Centre requires 7 calendar days advance notice of this request. If this is requested with less than 7 calendar days’ notice in advance, the request cannot be guaranteed.
  • Please show up to your appointment 5 minutes beforehand so that we can check you in.
  • If you show up late for your test, we may not be able to let you write (depending on professor instructions).
  • No food or drink (besides water) are allowed in the testing room.
  • Please take what you need from your pencil case and leave the case itself with the rest of your belongings.
  • No cell phones, laptops, tablets, smart watches or other electronic devices are allowed in the testing room. If a student is found with any of these devices, it is considered cheating and their instructor will be informed.
  • If a memory aid or formula sheet are part of your accommodation, they must be approved beforehand by your instructor. Assessment Centre staff require proof of approval and the aid must be submitted with the test.
