What is George Brown College Archives responsible for?

George Brown Archives maintains and provides access to the college’s records of permanent value and those that have a finite retention period, as well as the records of GBC’s antecedent organizations. The archives’ holdings total approximately 3,700 linear metres stored at Casa Loma Campus and an offsite facility.

The research/reading room is open by appointment. You can call, write, or e-mail George Brown College Archives to arrange a visit.

Are you a researcher?

George Brown Archives is open to all researchers by appointment. Please contact the Archivist to discuss your research in advance; this will ensure the appropriate materials are available onsite for your visit.

Researchers are asked to fill out a registration form on their first visit, and they will have access to all material allowed under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Limited duplication services, such as scanning or copying, can be discussed with the Archivist, and every attempt will be made to provide duplicates where necessary. In the case of records held at the Archives’ offsite storage facility, one business day is required for delivery.
