George Brown Apprenticeship & Skilled Trades Programs

Apprenticeship Programs:

An apprenticeship is a form of job training. As an apprentice, you will be employed and work under the supervision of a person skilled in your chosen trade. You will also need to take an in-school educational component. George Brown is a Training Delivery Agent (TDA) that currently offers in-school educational components for several apprenticeship programs:

  • Construction and Maintenance Electrician
  • Construction Millwright
  • General Carpentry
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
  • Plumber
  • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
  • Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
  • Sheet Metal Worker
  • Steamfitter

Post-secondary Programs for the Trades:

If you’re not ready to become an apprentice, your pathway into a trade can begin through a post-secondary trades-related program. These programs help you learn more about a trade and often cover a large percentage of the in-school training needed. An additional benefit is that you’ll graduate with an Ontario college credential– a competitive edge to make you stand out to employers.
