There is a growing demand for qualified, knowledgeable and professional renovators and custom home builders in the construction industry. This three-year program is designed to prepare you for employment in the carpentry trade and management areas of the renovation and construction field, with sustainable design business principles being key.

This 2-year program is eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.*George Brown’s two-year Carpentry and Renovation Technician program is designed to prepare you for employment in the renovation and light construction field. This 1-year program is eligible for a $20,000 scholarship.*This Electrical Techniques program focuses on building a working knowledge of electricity and electronics in relation to residential and commercial electrician applications. Students will develop skills and competencies in electrical theory, network cabling, electrical system installation and electrical workplace safety.*Domestic students only — see page for details.

This 2-year program is eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.*Students in George Brown College's Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician program develop the ability to size, install and maintain building environmental systems for the residential and light commercial sectors. You will gain solid skills and knowledge in the design, operation and maintenance of environmental systems in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R).*Domestic students only - see page for details.

This three-year HVAC advanced diploma program will provide you with an understanding of the factors involved in designing, building, controlling and maintaining energy-efficient building environmental systems. The first two years of the program will give you practical skills through hands-on projects in the shops. You will be working on a wide range of furnaces, air conditioners, refrigeration equipment and other appliances in our labs. In the third year, there is an additional focus on commercial systems.

This Plumbing Techniques program covers residential, commercial and industrial applications in the plumbing industry with a focus on residential plumbing. It is a hands-on program that may benefit anyone seeking to enter an apprenticeship or any construction-related career path.

The Welding Techniques program prepares students with practical, hands-on experience that applies the technical theory and elements of the welding field. Our state-of-the-art welding lab includes 26 individual stations that allow students to train in a controlled environment, as well as our virtual welding stations that offer students the opportunity to practise using realistic simulations. The Smart Welding Lab also provides a monitor and specialized infrared camera that lets instructors demonstrate and digitally document welding techniques.*Domestic students only — see page for details.
