The Grads
Photo of CLAIRE BURNS

CLAIRE BURNS
Claire Burns is soon to be a graduate of George Brown’s Theatre Program. Credits at George Brown include Adelaide (South of China), Mary (The Admirable Crichton) and Lena (Misalliance). Other theatre credits: Columbia (The Rocky Horror Show- Hart House), Ursula Merkle (Bye Bye Birdie- Hart House), Anne (Anne of Green Gables the Musical - LRPS). Claire also holds a Honours B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Toronto, and is looking forward to paying off her student loan.

AMANDA CORTES
Amanda Cortes is from Tavistock, ON, a small town outside of well known Stratford. She grew up being involved in the Playmakers! Theatre Program which encouraged her involvement in theatre and aspirations as an actor.

Photo of ADAM CUNNINGHAM ADAM CUNNINGHAM
Adam was born and raised in the sprawling city of Brampton, Ontario. A love of the stage was born in high school and followed him to the University of Toronto where he studied theatre for two years. At the completion of his second year another passion rose to the surface and caused him to leave school, move into a van and travel the country playing music with his band to whoever would listen. Two years and countless platinum records later (cough) he decided perhaps heading back to theatre school would be a wise choice. His parents agreed.
CAITLIN B. DRISCOLL
Caitlin B. Driscoll was born in Victoria B.C. and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, where she first discovered winter, hockey-fans and real-live loons. Before studying Theatre at George Brown College, Caitlin completed a B.A. Honours degree at Trent University where she studied culture and picked up French as her second language. Caitlin lived briefly in France, England and Montreal before settling in Toronto where she would like to be a part of the future of Canadian theatre, if that’s ok with you.

Photo of PATRICK FORAN PATRICK FORAN
Patrick hails from St. John’s, Newfoundland where he first studied theatre with the Shakespeare by the Sea Festival, Artistic Fraud, Rising Tide and the New Curtain Theatre Company. Along the way he picked up a degree in Business from Memorial University. Favourite projects at GB include Salt Water Moon, Misalliance, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, and Uncle Vanya. He absolutely loves his George Brown sisters and brothers (from other mothers) and looks forward to making even more theatre with them in years to come. Giv’er!
ELEANOR HEWLINGS
Eleanor is a graduate of Concordia University’s Theatre in Development program and is soon to graduate from the acting program at George Brown College. Recent credits include: Mrs. Caulfield in South of China (GBC), Jessica in The Madras House (GBC), Olga in Three Sisters (GBC), Lady Percy in Henry IV Part I (Concordia) and Lulu in The Birthday Party (Triptych Theatre).

Photo of KELLY HOARE KELLY HOARE
While other kids played with toy cars, or a new ball mitt Kelly was donning various wardrobes and performing for anyone who would watch. He got his start in his hometown of Port Perry with the Borelians Community Theatre. He attended the Second City for Improv training, completing level D, and the Screen Actors Studio in Victoria B.C. At George Brown he played the Cook in Tales from the Arabian Nights, the Duke in Women Beware Women, and Chester Davis in South of China. Kelly’s wide range of training has formed a foundation for his upcoming film, television and theatre career.
PATRICK KWOK-CHOON
Born in Montreal of Chinese-Mauritian background, Patrick has always held a passion for the arts. After earning a B.A. in Communication Studies from Concordia University, he eagerly pursued his passion for theatre at George Brown. He’s now ready to push the boundaries and contribute to the Canadian theatre mosaic. Memorable roles include Abas in South of China, Konstantin in The Seagull, Philip in The Madras House, and Paul in The Warriors. Patrick would like to thank his family, the GBTS faculty and guest artists for their support, encouragement, and wisdom.

Photo of TERESA LABRIOLA TERESA LABRIOLA
Teresa knew she was destined for the theatre ever since her father read her A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Waiting for Godot, and King Lear when she was only a little girl. Some of her favourite roles were Girleen in The Lonesome West and Adela in The House of Bernarda Alba. At George Brown, Teresa has had the privilege of playing such roles as Sonya in Uncle Vanya, Mrs. Warren in Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Fernande in The Impromptu of Outrement, and Bianca in Women Beware Women. Most recently she was seen as Jmga in South of China. Teresa is excited about the rest of the season and looking forward to what the future will bring!
ERIK MARTIN
Erik was born in Edmonton and raised mostly in Kelowna, B.C. After traveling Europe Erik moved to Toronto to live with his aunt who works in theatre. A love of acting was sparked and Erik was accepted into the George Brown Theatre School where he was been training for the last two and a half years. Erik is “voraciously hungry to act.”

Photo of LUKE MARTY LUKE MARTY
Luke was born in England, but raised in Chatham, ON where his love of theatre took root. Prior to George Brown, Luke earned a Physiology degree from UWO, though he soon discovered that acting was his true passion. Three years later, helming his own theatre company, he is excited to be entering Canada’s theatre and film community. Luke was recently seen as Captain Farwin in South of China at George Brown; Cromwell in the Fringe hit Domestic - from his own Pug In A Tux Productions; and as the Foreigner/Terrorist in Rumours of Our Death with Staged and Confused. Look for Luke as the title role in the ambitious City of Wine production Laius, and the rest of George Brown’s season.
JAMIE McROBERTS
Jamie McRoberts grew up in Oakville and has been involved in the arts since a very young age. At the age of four she began playing piano, and from there grew a love for music. She took this interest further by participating in choirs and dance lessons which later evolved into musical theatre. At the age of eight she started working in film, TV and stage, and later became a full member of ACTRA. After completing her Gr. 10 piano, majoring in dance throughout high school, and performing in various different musicals and dramas, Jamie decided to further her training at George Brown Theatre School. She is excited to get out into the real world!

Photo of LEORA MORRIS LEORA MORRIS
Although Leora earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at McGill before coming to George Brown, her ancestors were traveling circus performers in Eastern Europe, so it’s in her blood. Favourite past roles include Queen Victoria (GBC), the Widow in Women Beware Women (GBC), Peggy Hesslerigge in Pinero’s The Schoolmistress (GBC), Jill in Equus (McGill), Meg in A Lie of the Mind (McGill English Dept) and Tillie in The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds (McGill). Leora has extensive dance training, and hopes to pursue this in the professional world, along with her passion for choreographing, directing, and dramaturging.
DANIEL PAGETT
Daniel was born and raised in Kitchener Ontario. He grew up in an environment where going into the arts was not discouraged, but rather looked upon as a form of minor insanity. Despite this, when he first took to the stage in a production of Twelfth Night at the age of sixteen, he knew what he had to do. Since then Daniel has performed in both musical and non musical theatre constantly until he found his way into George Brown, and is now proud to represent them as a graduate. Favourite credits include: Peter Pan in Peter Pan, Eeleen Seng in South of China, and Cheviot in Engaged.

Photo of CATHERINE RAINVILLE CATHERINE RAINVILLE
Catherine was born in Toronto but raised in Ottawa, where she was surrounded by theatre. As a child, it seems she tried everything but acting (ballet, gymnastics, circus training, painting, springboard diving, choirs, and volleyball) but in the end followed in her father’s and brother’s footsteps. Catherine is excited for the scary future and wants to thank her family and amazing friends, and especially her mom who listened to many a long phone call with a freaked out daughter on the other end.
EVAN SMITH
Evan is ecstatic to finally graduate from George Brown. Born and raised in Mississauga, Evan has never been far from the Toronto arts community, a community he looks forward to calling home. Credits at George Brown: Cecil Mawson in South of China, Joe in Angels in America, Malcolm in Macbeth, Lvov in Ivanov, The Defendant in Trial by Jury, Konstantin in The Seagull, Gunner in Misalliance and Yves in Being at Home With Claude. Elsewhere: West Side Story (Tony), Evita (Che), Domestic (The Salesman, ‘Patrons Pick’ Toronto Fringe), Ragtime (Younger Brother), Theatre of the Film Noir (Hank), Les Miserables (Marius), Into The Woods (The Baker), and Bully (Carter). Love and thanks to everyone who made this possible!

Photo of NORAH SMITH NORAH SMITH
Norah always knew she would find herself pursuing theatre. Her first trip to the principal’s office was for taking her role as “family dog” a little too seriously while playing house, and biting the ankles of the other children. After spending a year abroad in India teaching English and drama to extremely energetic and vocal Nepalese pupils, Norah decided her next challenge would be theatre school. She has never looked back and is looking forward to do some collective creation work with the new company (good luck, Macbeth) which she helped form.
