KARL
ANG
Karl was born and raised in Ottawa, where he made brief
flirtations with the theatre before doing the sensible
thing and packing off to Toronto to seek a stable career.
After earning a B.Sc in psychology from the University
of Toronto, Karl was in the midst of completing his
law degree when in an eruption of madness he jumped
ship and swam for his life. Some months later, his
arms burning with fatigue, he found refuge in the wind-sheltered
cove of George Brown. He is grateful for the diverse
acting opportunities that he has received there and
is now looking forward to a long and unstable career.
He would like to thank his parents for their continued
forbearance.

GEOFFREY
ARMOUR
Geoffrey is and will always be a man
of the theatre. He comes straight from the rolling
and fertile fields
of Huron County where he spent seven seasons in the
Blyth Festival Young Company. As a youth he was a
co-conspirator in the creation of an independent
troupe called Actors Without Equity. He has done
extensive work towards adapting and creating new
theatrical works, has always had a deep passion for
classical texts and is constantly searching for new
media of expression. It is with great joy that he
enters the Canadian theatrical landscape and will
work relentlessly at preserving and improving our
great tradition.

RYDER BRITTON
Ryder has grown up in the theatre. His mother, who
was an actress/director, brought him to sit through
long rehearsals at a small theatre in Toronto. As it
seems, he decided this crazy way of life is also for
him. Family genes. Can’t escape ‘em. TV & FILM
credits include: TOMMY BOY, GOOSEBUMPS and numerous
commercials. STAGE credits: St. John Rivers in JANE
EYRE, THE MUSIC MAN!, Denadir in HATED NIGHTFALL, Cecil
in SOUTH OF CHINA and Mortimer in MARY STUART |
JOHN BRYANS
After many years of toiling in the Winnipeg public
library system, John bravely left the harsh winters
and humid summers of the prairie to carve out a
place for himself in theatre. John’s love
of theatre began at a young age, nurtured by his
parents and the good people of Manitoba Theatre
for Young People, to whom he is eternally indebted.
This year he was a recipient of the Jean Murray-Moray
Sinclair scholarship from Manitoba Theatre Centre.
He has worked as an actor, set designer, and plays
a semi-mean accordion. John has had a wonderful
time riding the George Brown roller-coaster and
would like to thank the faculty, his family and
friends for their continued support.

PATRICK CIESLAR
Raised amongst the colourful inhabitants and glorious
scenery of Goderich, Ontario, Patrick’s first
taste of theatre came from the local little theatre
and high school drama club. While completing a
degree in classical studies at Queen’s and
Western, the desire to pursue acting would not
ease its grasp and so he shipped out to Toronto
and entered George Brown Theatre School. His favourite
memories at GBC include playing the Dragon in THE
PAPER BAG PRINCESS and Rochester in JANE EYRE.
Patrick eagerly looks forward to graduation and
to what he hopes will be a fruitful and prosperous
career.

JENNIFER HARDING
Growing up in the soccer-mom capital of Aurora, Jennifer
made her artistic debut at the age of one as a
Pamper’s Baby. When the child modeling world
became too cut-throat and age oppressive, she began
acting and singing. Before making a move towards
classical text, she performed in countless musical
theatre productions and sang with such artists
as Jeff Healey. Jennifer’s travels have taken
her to Europe, South and Central America, and one
time into the Costa Rican Rainforest to study Environmental
Resource Management. George Brown highlights include
roles such as Z in VILLAGE WOOING, Queen Elizabeth
in MARY STUART, Suzanne in MARRIAGE OF FIGARO and
the duel roles of Bertha and Inner Jane in JANE
EYRE. Ms Harding is currently writing and recording
her first full-length CD.

KRISTAN HENDRIKS
Kristan is proud to be a part of the 2006 graduating
class of George Brown Theatre School. Raised in
beautiful Guelph, Ontario in a large, musical family,
she was destined to become an artist along with
her brothers and sisters. She finished high school,
moved to Toronto, began her training and started
the journey of an actor’s life. Favourite
credits at George Brown include: being a part of
THE PAPER BAG PRINCESS; playing the title role
in MARY STUART; Griselda in Howard Barker’s
HATED NIGHTFALL; and most recently, Charlotte Brontë’s
JANE EYRE directed by Rosemary Dunsmore. She is
excited to work with Miles Potter in THE SCHOOL
FOR SCANDAL. Kristan would like to endlessly thank
family and friends who have supported her through
this. |
BRIDGET NORRIS
Born in the farming community of Staffa, Ontario,
Bridget soon became curious about what was beyond
the red barns and never ending cornfields. At a
young age she attended plays at Stratford and Blyth
and began performing at step-dance and fiddle competitions
across Ontario. On her 16th birthday, saw a theatrical
production in Toronto that made her certain she
would pursue a career in the arts. Favourite roles
at George Brown include: Mary (SALTWATER MOON);
Carol (OLEANNA); Mrs. Warren (MRS. WARREN’S
PROFESSION); Jule Ann (THE PAPER BAG PRINCESS);
The Countess (MARRIAGE OF FIGARO); and the delightful
role of Adele in JANE EYRE. She would like to thank
the students and staff at GB as well as her family
for the constant knowledge, support and love.

PERRIE OLTHUIS
Born and raised in Toronto by artist parents, Perrie
discovered many opportunities to find her ultimate
career. The predominant passions in her life remain
painting, writing, horseback riding and above all,
acting. When given the chance to be a part of George
Brown’s theatre program, it proved a tremendous
growing experience and ultimately wonderfully changing.
Favourite roles include: Edith (‘DENTITY
CRISIS), Lorrie (FEATURING LORETTA), Juliet (ROMEO
AND JULIET), Lina Shchepanovska (MISALLIANCE),
Lady Teazle (THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL), Shirley (CRIMINAL
GENIUS) and Helen and Blanche (JANE EYRE). Theatre
and film is where this actor has placed her devotion
and is forever indebted to her art-loving, ex-hippie
parents for their endless advice, inspiration and
support of her artistic endeavours. |
DEREK PARADISO
Derek was born and raised in the northern city of
Sault Ste. Marie. There he developed a passion
for performing through his classical training in
Ballet, Jazz and Tap. After high school, Derek
moved to Guelph to pursue academics. At the University
of Guelph he earned an Honours Degree in Biomedical
Science. Upon graduation Derek lacked a sense of
fulfillment which led him to pursue a career in
the performing arts. Throughout his years of study
at George Brown College, he was finally able to
express his creativity. Some of Derek’s favourite
credits include: RICHARD III, the Truck Driver
in THE PAPER BAG PRINCESS, Figaro in MARRIAGE OF
FIGARO, the Wall in PYRAMUS AND THISBE: A MOCK
OPERA, Morgan in THE GLORIOUS 12th, Romanoff in
HATED NIGHTFALL and JANE EYRE. Derek is ready to
face the many challenges that lie ahead.

DENISE PINNOCK
Denise was born and raised in the quiet town of Winnipeg,
Manitoba. There she gained an appreciation for
beautiful warm summers and the importance of Thinsulate
jackets in the winter. She started her post-secondary
education at the University of Manitoba in Nursing
but quickly realized that trying to entertain sick
people everyday was not her calling. She later
graduated with a major in Women Studies and minor
in Theatre. With that piece in hand, she went to
conquer the world and found herself enjoying every
moment shared with her classmates at George Brown.
Favourite roles at GBC: Queen Margaret in RICHARD
III; the Wind in MILLICENT AND THE WIND; Lady Flimnap
in LILIPUT; Queen Elizabeth in MARY STUART; Mrs.
Fairfax in JANE EYRE. |
SARAH SHERMAN
Sarah hails from “The Hammer”, where
wild ambitions for child stardom were lovingly yanked
down and redirected by her parents. Eight years of
acting lessons and many Hamilton community productions
later, she found her passion for theatre, packed
her bags and set sail to pursue her craft in the
big TO across the lake. Favourite roles at George
Brown include Vivie in MRS. WARREN’S PROFESSION,
the title role in THE PAPER BAG PRINCESS, Beatrice
in THE CENCI, Caroline in HATED NIGHTFALL and most
recently, the title role in JANE EYRE directed by
Rosemary Dunsmore.

JAMIE SPILCHUK
Jamie hails from North Bay, Ontario where he caught
the acting bug in his tender years of high school,
appearing in SYMPHONIE FANTASTIQUE at the Sears
Drama Festival. He always wanted to live out his
dream in the big city and going to George Brown
Theatre School has allowed him to take a huge step
in that direction. Jamie’s credits at George
Brown include: Howard Barker’s HATED NIGHTFALL;
Charlotte Brontë’s JANE EYRE; Jacob
in SALT WATER MOON; Romeo in ROMEO AND JULIET;
Leicester in MARY STUART. Jamie looks forward to
working with Miles Potter on THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL
which will be performed in February. NEVER GIVE
UP!
