KRISTIAN BRUUN
After graduating from military school, Kristian thought
he had things all figured out: go to
university, get a degree and join the army as an officer
to peace-keep. Things changed... a
lot. From Physics, to Archeology to Drama, it took
a while but he finally found his passion:
theatre. He liked theatre because it had all the discipline
of the military with 48% less death
and destruction! Who knew?! With this in mind, he finished
his degree at Queen's
University and moved (back) to the big city (his hometown)
and came to George Brown
instead of the parade square. Change is good.

MIKA COLLINS
Mika's early acting endeavors began in Montreal,
several years after immigrating from South
Africa, in X with Vanguard Theatre, LANDSCAPE by Pinter
at Concordia University, and a
one-woman Fringe show of Diane Flack's BY A THREAD.
Recent credits include LOVE'S
LABOUR'S LOST and MEASURE FOR MEASURE with Resurgence
Theatre this past
summer, and independent films such as PRICILLIA'S
WAKING HOUR and HINT. Future
pursuits will be acting in theatre and film, as well
as writing and collaboratively producing
new works.

JANET DELL
Before coming to George Brown, Janet was very active
in the theatre community of her
hometown, Sudbury. Some of her favourite memories include
playing Shelby in STEEL
MAGNOLIAS at Theatre Cambrian; Sabina in SKIN OF OUR
TEETH at Laurentian
University; and Emily in OUR TOWN at Sudbury Secondary
School for the Arts. At
George Brown, she appeared as Cleopatra in ALL FOR
LOVE, Eugenia in THE GLORIOUS
TWELFTH and Mary in SALT-WATER MOON. Janet is excited
for the upcoming
season and credits her family's love and support
for getting her to where she is today. |
ANDREA IRWIN
A farmer's daughter from Shelburne, Ontario,
Andrea previously earned her B.A. Honours
(Drama and English) and B.Ed. from Queen's
University. She has been a Young Company
member of Theatre Orangeville and Thousand Islands' Playhouse,
and has performed mainstage
shows with T.I.P. and Theatre Collingwood. Favourite
roles along the journey: Mrs.
Gardiner in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE; Caterina in VINCI;
Octavia in ALL FOR LOVE;
title role in SIMON'S WIFE; and Daughter/Cop
in PIRATES OF PENZANCE. Andrea will
play The Countess in February's ALL'S
WELL THAT ENDS WELL.

MORGAN JONES
After high school, Morgan took the theatre programme
at Red Deer College, Alberta and was
fortunate to play Dromio in THE COMEDY OF ERRORS. Other
favourite Alberta productions
include NextFest's CODE WORD: TIME, Primestock's
SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED,
Rosencrantz in ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD,
and was
thrice blessed to perform in the Edmonton International
Fringe Festival. Favourite roles at
GBC: Rat in THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS; Harcourt in THE
COUNTRY WIFE; Antonio
in VENICE PRESERVED and recently Mr. Gardiner in PRIDE
AND PREJUDICE. Morgan
looks forward to playing the Dumaine Brother in ALL'S
WELL THAT ENDS WELL.

CORA KENNEDY
Born in a small town outside St. John's, Newfoundland,
Cora's parents started her on her
world traveling at the age of two. Throughout her
life she has seen Guyana, Fiji, France,
Hong Kong, Moscow, Bali and Vietnam. Cora has learned
a lot from being exposed to so
many different cultures. She also learned a lot at
Wilfrid Laurier University where she
completed her Honours B. of Music. It was here where
she discovered that acting was the true
medium for her artistic expression. However, Cora
still loves to play her piano for family and
friends and has been able to integrate her musical
skills into her acting at George Brown. She
has learned a lot here and looks forward to learning
even more out in the 'real world'. And
maybe, when her student loan is paid off, she'll
be able to continue her world travels.

KRISTAN KLIMCZAK
Kristan was born in the Parliament buildings which
put her next in line for the Prime Minister's
seat, making her the first to claim the position
by birthright. She threw it all away however, for
her art. Her years at George Brown have been much
more grueling than running a country
could ever be but she did have fun in the following
roles: Helena in MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S
DREAM; Sonya in UNCLE VANYA; Belvedera in VENICE
PRESERVED; Elizabeth in
ESCAPE FROM HAPPINESS; Lucia in MAD FOREST; Lady
Catherine de Bourgh in PRIDE
AND PREJUDICE and she is more than excited to play
Lavatch the clown in George Brown's
upcoming of ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL.
|
LOUISE-CLAIRE LAMBERT
Louse-Claire was thrilled to have the opportunity
to train at George Brown and has enjoyed
her roles throughout the programme. Theatre credits
include: Juliet in ROMEO AND
JULIET; Yelena in UNCLE VANYA; Donna in PATIENCE;
Jessica in JITTERS; Millamant
in THE WAY OF THE WORLD and most recently Lydia in
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.
She is anticipating her upcoming role as Helena in
ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL.

KATIE LAWSON
Katie grew up in Grimsby, Ontario but left to study
theatre at the University of Victoria, BC.
Upon graduation she felt the pull to Toronto and
the desire for more training. Katie has had a
fantastic experience at George Brown working with
amazing teachers on challenging and
exciting material. While living in Toronto, she's
managed to spend her summers in BC where
she worked as an actor at the Wild Horse Theatre
at Fort Steele and last summer acted in a
production with Bent Penny Theatre. This last year,
she has played the roles of Flavia and The
Dog in MAD FOREST and Elizabeth Bennet in PRIDE AND
PREJUDICE. Katie looks
forward to her final term and is ready to get out
into the world and see what she can contribute.

DEREK MORAN
Derek hails from the metropolis of Paris, Ontario,
where he was a part of a variety of off-
Broadway hits. Risking the social stardom of home,
Derek moved to begin afresh at the bottom
of the George Brown ladder and has never looked back.
His best experiences at school include
Troilus in TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, Platonov in WILD HONEY,
Loveless in THE
RELAPSE, Daniel in THE SAINTS AND THE APOSTLES, Len
in THE EDIBLE WOMAN
and Rader in MAD FOREST. Derek would like to thank
the teachers for the training that gave
him the opportunity to tackle Mr. D'Arcy in George
Brown's Showcase production of PRIDE
AND PREJUDICE.

JESSE PHILLIPS
As an 18 year old suburbanite kid failing to get
into a university theatre program, Jesse took
that as a sign that he had to be sure that acting
was the only way to go. Five years later, he
knocked on the doors of George Brown with some production
and multi-media time logged
under his belt and knew he had come home. After biting
into such roles as Reuben in
PATIENCE; the Vampire in MAD FOREST, Lord Foppington
in THE RELAPSE and Titus
Lartius in CORIOLANUS, he is looking forward to playing
the Second Lord Dumaine in the
upcoming production of ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS
WELL.

PATRICIA PULCINE
Patricia is thrilled to have been a part of the George
Brown Theatre program, which without
the support of her very understanding partner and beautiful
daughter would not have been
possible. Previously she attended the B.F.A. program
at Algoma University, majoring in
Theatre and Music with a focus on classical and jazz
singing. Patricia is also grateful to
have had the opportunity to work with many talented
people through the Pull Chain Theatre
Company and the Sault Opera Society. Some of her favourite
roles include Abigail
Williams in THE CRUCILE, Lady Capulet in ROMEO AND
JULIET, Sylvia in SYLVIA
and Little Red Riding Hood in INTO THE WOODS. |

MARK PURVIS

in drama from Queen's University before
hopping on the 401. A lover of music as well as theatre,
prior roles include Horst (BENT),
George (OUR TOWN), Sparky (FOREVER PLAID), Nicely
(GUYS AND DOLLS), and Paul
(A CHORUS LINE). Selected George Brown credits: Pinchwife
(THE COUNTRY WIFE),

anticipating his role as Lafew in ALL'S WELL
THAT ENDS WELL to be directed by Joseph
Ziegler. Many thanks to faculty and classmates for
challenge and support over the past 3 years. |
CHRIS RATZ
Chris was born and raised in the Highlands of Haliburton, Ontario where he made
a glorious
start playing 'the boy who cried wolf' in grade three. He is very
pleased to have been a part
of George Brown for the past three years and is looking forward to the rest of
the season.
Some of his favourite credits at GB have been Joe in ANGELS IN AMERICA, THE BEAR,
Ventidius in ALL FOR LOVE, Apurtash (THE COUNTRY WIFE), Gabriel (MAD
FOREST) and most recently Mr. Collins in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. |
 |
 |
MARTHA SCHABAS
Theatre credits include WALLFLOWER (Summerworks)

University). Film credits include THE APARTMENT STORY
(Bravo!) and DO UNTO
OTHERS (CFF). Favourite George Brown credits are
Miranda in THE TEMPEST, Mary Ann

COUNTRY WIFE. Martha has
also trained extensively as a ballet and modern dancer;
having studied at the National Ballet
School and performed as a soloist with Ballet Jorgen's
Youth Ensemble. Her writing has been
published in The Chicago Tribune and The Ottawa Citizen.
Before attending George Brown,
she studied history and political science at McGill
University. |
ANDRE SILLS
Andre was one of those people
who started off in their church's Easter play
as a little shepherd
boy. He was involved in Agincourt Pentecostal Church's
drama team, and somehow
jumped to play intense Provincal Rugby for two years.
The battle soon became to act or to
cause tremendous pain? After playing Aaron in TITUS
ANDRONICUS, Andre realized that
he could have the best of both worlds. Some things
Andre has been able to tackle while at
George Brown are Mirabell in THE WAY OF THE WORLD,
Toad in THE WIND IN THE
WILLOWS and Mr. Bingley in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. He
is looking forward to sinking
his teeth into ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL as
he plays Bertram. Ready to Play! |
