SHARMILA DEY
Sharmila was born and raised in Toronto and has always
made acting, dancing and singing a major part of
her life. Currently in her final year at the George
Brown Theatre, she recently performed the role
of Maria in LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST directed
by Joseph Ziegler and has also stage managed for
the production HE SAID YES/HE SAID NO as part of

MADELEINE DONOHUE
A native Torontonian, Madeleine has been showing
off just about all her life, with varying degrees
of success. When she grew bored with her fame in
productions of the summer camp/backyard variety,
she became a member of the Canadian Children's
Opera Chorus, where she never got the good parts
because she was too damned tall. During her years
at a performing arts high school and in community
theatre, Madeleine played such roles as Beatrice
in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, Mercutio in ROMEO AND
JULIET and the dead body in THE REAL INSPECTOR
HOUND. She also appeared in THE YAK STORY in last
year's Fringe Festival. Favourite roles at
George Brown include Alice Arden in ARDEN OF FEVERSHAM,
Counselor Trudy in MONSTER MUNSCH, Miss Julie (title
role) and Rosaline in LOVE'S LABOUR'S
LOST directed by Joseph Ziegler.

 |
JONATHAN GEENEN
Jonathan came to George Brown from Sault Ste. Marie.
He recently played the role of Berowne in Shakespeare's
LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST directed by Joseph
Ziegler. Other favourite roles include Malchior
in SPRING AWAKENING, Konstantin in THE SEAGULL,
Joe Bonaparte in GOLDEN BOY, Sir. Andrew in TWELFTH
NIGHT, Listener in Beckett's OHIO IMPROMPTU
and the title role in VOLPONE. He enjoys playing
sports during the free time he has.

PHILIP KNIGHT
In his last year of high school, Philip appeared
in two plays at the Stratford Festival before moving
on to George Brown: JULIUS CAESAR and THE CHERRY
ORCHARD. Some of his favourite characters at theatre
school were Cassius, Oswald (GHOSTS), Arden (OF
FEVERSHAM) and Estragon. This year he played Longueville
in LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST and is preparing
to play Brink in the Equity co-production of ROAD
by Jim Cartwright. In this year's Summerworks,
he played Boy in HE SAID YES/HE SAID NO, produced
by Chimera Theatre Company. It has all been incredibly
fun and genuinely enlightening.

NEIL MATHEWS
Prior to moving to Toronto to train at George Brown,
Neil, a bona fide Anglophone from Montreal, graduated
from McGill University with a BA in English and
Drama, experienced a summer at the Banff Centre
learning stagecraft, and worked for two years in
the book retail industry. Needless to say, Neil
was more than ready to commit himself to the journey
of self-discovery and spiritual rejuvenation offered
at theatre school. During his time at George Brown,
Neil has told dirty jokes as Davey in GENERATIONS,
questioned his self-worth as Uncle Vanya, bared
his bottom as Hodge in GAMMER GURTON'S NEEDLE,
and, recently, sported a fake beard as the swaggering
Don Armado in LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST.
Neil looks forward to the future and to becoming
a part of the performing arts in Canada.

SHAWN McDOWELL

city which, to this day, thrives on its various
forms of theatre. He had the express fortune to
play many assorted roles including Mozart in AMADEUS,
Lt. Ralph Clarke in OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD, the
director in NOISES OFF, Cassio in THE OTHELLO PROJECT
and Danny in GREASE. Moving on to theatre school,
he was given the opportunity to try on a few other
pairs of shoes, namely, Astrov in UNCLE VANYA and
Mosea in VOLPONE. In recent productions with the
Nipissing Stage Company in North Bay, he took on
Einstein in PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE and Jonathan
Harken in THE PASSION OF DRACULA. Most recently,

Brown showcase season - LOVE'S LABOUR'S
LOST.

III. His favourite roles at George Brown include
