Outcomes-Based Education: An Introduction (Session 1) |
The use of an outcomes-based approach to curriculum development and delivery is a significant component of the academic strategy. This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to explore the philosophy of this approach and to understand the impact that this model will have on their teaching. In this experiential seminar, participants will have an opportunity to engage in activities linking theory to practice and assess the impact of OBL on the teaching and learning in the college. Outcomes-Based
Education: Writing Effective Course Outcomes
|
Using Bloom’s taxonomy, participants will learn how to write specific, relevant course outcomes and objectives that are increasingly demanding, depending on the skills, knowledge and attitudes being addressed. Participants will have an opportunity to practice writing course outcomes. If you wish to work on an outcome from your discipline, please bring one of your Course Outlines with you. [Register] |
Outcomes-Based Education: Assessment (Session 3)
|
Clearly worded and timed assessments provide students with the transparency they need to find meaning and relevance in the course content. Outcomes-based assessments are, as much as possible, authentic and an integral part of the learning. This workshop will explore ways to create assessments that add meaning and relevance to the learning process. [Register] |
Outcomes-Based Education: Creating Effective Lesson Plans (Session 4)
