George Brown Theatre School gala event celebrates the
opening of its spectacular new performance space and educational facility, the
Young Centre for the Performing Arts
Toronto, Ont… On Saturday, November 26, 2005, George Brown Theatre
School takes centre stage at a gala celebration of its new home at the
Young Centre for the Performing Arts, in the Distillery Historic District.
When the Act 1, Scene 1 curtain rises, theatre school patrons will be
treated to a stellar night of entertainment, including a cocktail reception
and tour of the Young Centre commencing at 6:30 p.m., followed by a gourmet
dinner at 7:30 p.m. and performances at 9:30 p.m. The Gala will take
place at the Stone Distillery - Fermenting Cellar Event Facility.
Attendees will be entertained by fantastic headliner acts from the theatre
school students including; a fencing demonstration of stage combat, a
scene from the fall production of the great classic Jane Eyre, and a
musical number from the Stephen Sondheim hit Follies.
The Hon. Lincoln Alexander is serving as Honorary Chairman. Co Chairs
of the Act 1, Scene 1 Gala are Helen M. Kearns and Steven K. Hudson.
