Learning Environment - Dance

Our home

Our dance classes are held in studios at our Casa Loma Campus, located in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood. The campus is close to plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops and is easily accessible by transit (within walking distance of Dupont subway station).

Studying dance at George Brown means you’re training in the heart of one of Canada’s top cultural centres. You’ll be able to take in everything the local dance scene has to offer and because you’ll be working with professionals and performing for the public, you will become a part of this exciting community.

Where we perform

Students get the opportunity to perform for the public on professional stages. Past productions have been staged at the Toronto Centre for the Arts and the Betty Oliphant Theatre.

George Brown Dance Student Ensemble

Students are accepted into the ensemble by audition in September of each year. The student ensemble provides opportunities for students seeking extra performance experience.  The ensemble performs at high schools, community festivals and the George Brown Dance annual showcases. Works from Ballet Jörgen CanadaOpen New Browser Window as well as commissions from up-and-coming Toronto area choreographers, make up the year’s repertoire. Members of the ensemble are required to attend extra evening and weekend rehearsals during the school year.
