Field Study/Practicums
The college has well-established international field studies/practicum opportunities for students in the following programs*:
- Orthotic / Prosthetic Technician (India, Australia, Scotland, Vietnam, etc.)
- Early Childhood Education (Jamaica)
- Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate (Jamaica and Cuba)
- Community Worker (Jamaica and Cuba)
- Social Service Worker (Jamaica and Cuba)

Academic Exchange Programs
Academic Exchange Programs allow students to study at partner institutions in another country from four weeks to up to one semester. There is a selection process for interested students. Once selected, students pay regular George Brown College tuition fees and attend the partner institution. Eligible credits are then transferred back to your program. Current academic exchange opportunities and key contacts:
- The University of the West Indies (Caribbean-wide)
- Nagoya Gakuin University (Open to all GBC students from various programs)
- Edinburgh Napier University (Open to GBC Bachelor of Applied Business Degree - Financial Services students)
- Copenhagen School of Design and Technology - KEA (Open to GBC Architectural Technology - T109 students)
