OSLT - Occupation-Specific Language Training

A new work-oriented language course offered for FREE to newcomers

  • Are you new to Canada?
  • Are you trained in business, skilled trades, or the Nursing industries?
  • Are you looking to improve your communication skills in the workplace?

George Brown College is now offering Occupation Specific Language Training for the following sectors:
  • Construction Trades
  • Business
  • Nursing

These courses will help you to:

  • Understand workplaces in Ontario
  • Develop strong interviewing, networking and career-building communication skills
  • Interact effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients

This course is for you if:

  • Your English is at an intermediate level (Canadian Language Benchmarks 6 to 8)
  • You are a permanent resident or protected person
  • You have training or experience in:

    • Construction/Skilled Trades
      • carpentry
      • electrical
      • plumbing
      • steam fitting
      • bricklaying
    • Business
      • small business/entrepreneurial
      • hospitality
      • accounting
    • Nursing

Business: February 8 – May 19, 2010 (5:30pm – 9:45pm | Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)

Nursing: February 22 - May 3, 2010 (3:00pm – 8:30pm | Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays)
