Program Comparison Help

Decision-making made easy! This tool gives you a breakdown of individual programs offered at George Brown College and how they differ from other programs you’re interested in. Use this tool to select up to 10 programs to compare, helping you make the right choice for the career you want.
Instructions:

1. Under Program Comparison, click Add a New Program

2. Search for one of the programs you’re interested in (either alphabetically, by interest or by job)

3. Click on the title of the program in the menu

4. Click Add to Comparison

5. Continue searching for programs using steps 2-4

6. When you’re done, clicking Program Comparison will give you a preview of the programs and the option to delete, add or clear all

7. Open Program Compare for more details and an easy-to-read comparison of the programs you’ve selected

Program ImageWhether it’s making braces and artificial limbs, testing hearing, serving as a personal trainer or designing recreational programs for the elderly, a career in health and wellness means you can improve the quality of life for patients and clients every day. 

Our hands-on programs will give you an understanding of how to keep others healthy and active, and how to become an expert in assistive devices. You will learn both the human and technical sides of Orthotic, Prosthetic and Hearing Instrument creation and use. You will study in state-of-the-art facilities, enjoy practical field experience and graduate with highly specialized, in-demand skills.

Autism and Behavioural Science Program (Postgraduate) (C405) 2014 - 2015 Post Graduate Full Time

This program focuses on autism spectrum disorders and therapies, mainly Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI), for application within the children’s sector. You will gain practical experiences working with families and treatment teams.

Behavioural Science Technology (Intensive) Program (C136) 2014 - 2015 Diploma Full Time

If you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field, you could complete the intensive Behavioural Science Technology program in one year.

Behavioural Science Technology Program (C116) 2014 - 2015 Diploma Full Time

This three-year program provides you with an opportunity to study applied behaviour analysis and Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI).

Clinical Methods in Orthotics/Prosthetics Program (Postgraduate) (S407) 2013 - 2014 Post Graduate Full Time

A joint program with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and other facilities, you will learn how to make and fit artificial limbs and braces and splints.

Fitness and Health Promotion Program (S125) (previously S114) 2014 - 2015 Diploma Full Time

This two-year program will prepare you to meet the multi-dimensional demands of a dynamic market for fitness, preventative health care, exercise rehabilitation and personal training. Career choices, along with employment rates, are very high.

Hearing Instrument Specialist Program (S117) 2013 - 2014 Diploma Full Time

This program provides students with an opportunity to study and develop clinical skills that will enable them to test hearing, select appropriate hearing instruments and dispense these aids to people in need. All clients must have a prescription from a physician or an audiologist prior to being fitted with a hearing aid.

Pre-Health Science Program (A102) 2014 - 2015 Certificate Full Time

The Pre-Health Science program will prepare students to perform at a level that will assist them in gaining entry to a Health Sciences program at George Brown College, including Practical Nursing. It also gives students a basic understanding of social sciences and human relations, to help them relate to people at college in further studies and at work in health care institutions or with health care providers. Throughout this program, students study biology, chemistry and physics. Other courses include applied math, communications and computer literacy.
