Program Comparison Help

Decision-making made easy! This tool gives you a breakdown of individual programs offered at George Brown College and how they differ from other programs you’re interested in. Use this tool to select up to 10 programs to compare, helping you make the right choice for the career you want.

1. Under Program Comparison, click Add a New Program

2. Search for one of the programs you’re interested in (either alphabetically, by interest or by job)

3. Click on the title of the program in the menu

4. Click Add to Comparison

5. Continue searching for programs using steps 2-4

6. When you’re done, clicking Program Comparison will give you a preview of the programs and the option to delete, add or clear all

7. Open Program Compare for more details and an easy-to-read comparison of the programs you’ve selected

Our hands-on programs will give you an understanding of how to keep others healthy and active, and how to become an expert in assistive devices. You will learn both the human and technical sides of Orthotic, Prosthetic and Hearing Instrument creation and use. You will study in state-of-the-art facilities, enjoy practical field experience and graduate with highly specialized, in-demand skills.

Activation Co-ordinator/Gerontology Program (C102) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

Activation Co-ordinator/Gerontology is a one-of-a-kind diploma program that will provide you with specialized knowledge in the field of aging. Graduates design and deliver meaningful therapeutic programs to enhance the quality of life of older persons.

Autism and Behavioural Science Program (Postgraduate) (C405) 2015 - 2016 Post Graduate Full Time

The Autism and Behavioural Science program focuses on autism spectrum disorders and therapies, mainly Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI), for application primarily children and adolescents. You will gain practical experience working with treatment teams.

Behavioural Science Technology (Intensive) Program (C136) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

Behavioural Science Technology (Intensive) is a one-year, intensive course for those who have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field. This program provides students with an opportunity to study applied behaviour analysis and behavioural intervention.

Behavioural Science Technology Program (C116) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

Behavioural Science Technology is a three-year program that provides you with an opportunity to study applied behaviour analysis and Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI). Employment is often related to autism and developmental disabilities.

Clinical Methods in Orthotics/Prosthetics Program (Postgraduate) (S407) 2015 - 2016 Post Graduate Full Time

Clinical Methods in Orthotics/Prosthetics is a joint program with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and other facilities. During this two-year program, you will learn how to make and fit artificial limbs and braces and splints. This program is unique in Ontario.

Fitness and Health Promotion Program (S125) (previously S114) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

The Fitness and Health Promotion program will prepare you to meet the multi-dimensional demands of a dynamic market for fitness, preventative health care, exercise rehabilitation and personal training. Career options are varied and employment rates high.

Hearing Instrument Specialist Program (S117) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

The Hearing Instrument Specialist program provides students with an opportunity to study and develop clinical skills that will enable them to test hearing, select appropriate hearing instruments and dispense these aids to people in need. All clients must have a prescription from a physician or an audiologist prior to being fitted with a hearing aid.

Orthotic / Prosthetic Technician Program (S102) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician is a very practice-oriented, hands-on program. Over the span of two years, students learn to be competent with many hand tools and specialized machines used in the fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices. This program is unique in Ontario.

Pre-Health Science Program (A102) 2015 - 2016 Certificate Full Time

The Pre-Health Science program will prepare students to perform at a level that will assist them in gaining entry to a Health Sciences program at George Brown College, including Practical Nursing. It also gives students a basic understanding of social sciences and human relations, to help them relate to people at college in further studies and at work in health care institutions or with health care providers. Throughout this program, students study biology, chemistry and physics. Other courses include applied math, communications and computer literacy.
