The Game Design program
at George Brown College focuses on the
development of game prototypes. Expanding beyond the idea that
games are entertainment, the program explores games that can have
serious applications in areas such as education, training, simulation,
and marketing. Innovations in graphic and interface design are
now at a point where an increased sense of immersion is possible
for gamers. As a result, a broad spectrum of organizations and
industries are beginning to realize the new possibilities that
gaming can unleash.
The Game Design program teaches meaningful
ways to design and develop games that allow users to explore,
learn, empathize, and
experience life in new ways. Our program teaches theory and application
across multiple creative and technical fields of study. Students
will learn the tools and develop the expertise necessary to successfully
be part of the gaming industry as Game Designers, Character Designers,
Model and Texture Artists, Level Designers, Associate Producers
and/or Project Managers.
