At George Brown College we believe that financial resources shouldn’t be a barrier to receiving an education. We have resources available to help you pay for your college education, and we encourage you to visit the Financial Assistance Office on your campus for more information.
OSAP provides assistance through loans, bursaries, grants and work study based on your calculated financial need. They supplement, but do not replace, the financial resources that you should have available to meet the cost of your education.
George Brown College’s Awards program recognizes excellence and assists students with the costs of their education through non-repayable scholarships, awards, and bursaries. GBC Awards Online Application system allows you to identify awards, scholarships and bursaries you may be eligible for, apply online and track the status of your application.
The Student Assistance Fund is a bursary available to George Brown students as part of the Ontario’s Student Access Guarantee that states that no qualified Ontario student should be prevented from attending college due to lack of financial resources.
To qualify you must apply for OSAP and have an unmet need defined by the OSAP system according to your individual assessment, complete an application, provide a budget and include a letter of explanation then submit these documents to the Financial Assistance office.
This fund is designed to assist students who have been placed in serious financial difficulty due to sudden and unexpected situations such as fire, theft, death, accident, etc. Applications are available through the Financial Assistance Office.
