To be considered for any of the awards listed below, students must apply by selecting Divisional Winter Awards through STU-VIEW and be enrolled full-time in a Hospitality and Culinary Arts Program.

Available Awards

Accademia Italiana della Cucina, Toronto Delegation, Scholarship

Accademia Italiana Della Cucina has donated funds for the establishment of the Accademia Italiana Della Cucina, Toronto Delegation, Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H411 program in any year of study. The student must submit a brief multi-media presentation of their choice about Italian food and culture.

Anne Sado Scholarship

Anne Sado has donated funds for the establishment of the Anne Sado Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must have demonstrated leadership qualities through volunteer community service and a commitment to working with others.

Baking and Pastry Arts Scholarship

GBC CHCA has donated funds for the establishment of the Baking and Pastry Arts Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H113 program in any year of study. The student will be a full-time student(s) in the Baking and Pastry Arts Management Program.

Baking Association of Canada Ontario Chapter

Kate Nugent, Chair of Education for Ontario Chapter of Baking Association of Canada has donated funds for the establishment of the Baking Association of Canada Ontario Chapter. The award is available to students in the H113 program in any year of study. The student must have a strong work ethic and attitude and demonstrate that they are team and goal-oriented.

Barberian Family Scholarship

Grapes for Humanity has donated funds for the establishment of the Barberian Family Scholarship. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H414

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must display passion for their field of study
  • The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

Barry Callebaut Award

Barry Callebaut Canada Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the Barry Callebaut Award. The award is available to students in the H413 program in any year of study.

Barry Grant Culinary Award

Susan Minns has donated funds for the establishment of the Barry Grant Culinary Award. The award is available to students in the H411 program in any year of study. The student must demonstrate creativity and innovation in their work, artistry and precision in food preparation, spirit of generosity and interest in others, and passion for learning.

Bollinger Champagne Award

Ian Hanna has donated funds for the establishment of the Bollinger Champagne Award. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H414

Bonnie Stern Fellowship Scholarship

Bonnie Stern - Premier's Award has donated funds for the establishment of the Bonnie Stern Fellowship Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H100 program in any year of study. The student must have Fellowship skills, including leadership, desire to help others, support team-building activities, and show respect and care for others.

Borden Ladner Gervais Scholarship

Borden Ladner Gervais has donated funds for the establishment of the Borden Ladner Gervais Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must exhibit job-related social skills, which may include a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and respect toward others. They must demonstrate that they have overcome obstacles to undertake their studies.

Brian Cooper Memorial Award

Friends and Family of Brian Cooper have donated funds for the establishment of the Brian Cooper Memorial Award. The award is available to students in the H402 program in any year of study. The student must be a top overall student.

Cactus Club Café Scholarship

Cactus Club Café has donated funds for the establishment of the Cactus Club Café Scholarship. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for all programs in this category

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must maintain a 2.5 Min GPA or higher

Canada Cutlery Award

Canada Cutlery has donated funds for the establishment of the Canada Cutlery Award. The award is available to students in the H100 program in any year of study. The student will have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

CHCA BAB Student Leadership Scholarship for Special Events

CHCA Special Events - BAB has donated funds for the establishment of the CHCA BAB Student Leadership Scholarship for Special Events. The award is available to students in the H301 program in any year of study. The student must demonstrate leadership through volunteerism. They must be self-motivated, passionate about learning and have higher-than-average abilities in special event planning.

CHCA Special Events Student Leadership Excellence Award

CHCA Special Events - H121, H111 has donated funds for the establishment of the CHCA Special Events Student Leadership Excellence Award. The award is available to students in the H111, H121 program in their first year of study. The student must be self-motivated and passionate about learning. They must have made a commitment to their field of study and demonstrate job-related social skills, including a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and respect.

Chef Aakash Dhall Leadership in Culinary Arts Award

George Brown College Foundation would like to designate an entrance scholarship for international students studying culinary arts at George Brown College, in honour of Chef Aakash Dhall, GBC alumni and winner of season 3 of Food Network Canada’s Fire Masters.

Starting in the 2022-2023 academic year, one (1) award of $1,000.00 will be presented annually to one (1) student in the Chef School at George Brown College.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Registered, full-time, international student.
  • Student must be in their first year in any program within the Chef School at George Brown College.
  • Student must demonstrate financial need.

Chef Raquel Fox Leadership Award

Chef Raquel Fox would like to designate an award to culinary students at the Chef School.

Starting in the 2022-2023 academic year, one (1) award of $1,000 will be presented to one (1) student in the school of Culinary Arts who meet the following criteria.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Registered, full-time, domestic student
  • Student must be enrolled in any full-time program at the Chef School, Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts
  • Student must demonstrate financial need, which includes food insecurity

Chef Robert Daley Memorial Scholarship

Multiple Donors have donated funds for the establishment of the Chef Robert Daley Memorial Award. The award is available for students with a minimum of 2.5 GPA or higher. The student must demonstrate financial need and involvement in the community.

Chiaravalloti Scholarship

Paul Chiaravalloti has donated funds for the establishment of the Chiaravalloti Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must have demonstrated an interest in their area of study and that they strive to do their best.

Chianti Classico Scholarship

International Event and Exhibition Management (I.E.E.M.) has donated funds for the establishment of the Chianti Classico Scholarship. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H414

  • The student must maintain a 2.5 Min GPA or higher

Chris Lippert Memorial Award

Mary Lippert has donated funds for the establishment of the Chris Lippert Memorial Award. The award is available to students in the Apprenticeship - Baking program in any year of study. The student must be the top graduating student in their program.

Cindy Diamond Award

Cindy Diamond, Plan-It Promotions has donated funds for the establishment of the Cindy Diamond Award. The award is available to students in all Hospitality Programs in any year of study. The student must demonstrate academic excellence and be judged to be the most likely to succeed in the Hospitality Industry.

Colio Wines Scholarship

Colio Estates Wines has donated funds for the establishment of the Colio Wines Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H102 program in any year of study. The student must demonstrate interest and effort in area of study.

Compass Group Canada Award

Compass Group Canada has donated funds for the establishment of the Compass Group Canada Award. The award is available to students in the H100, H116 program in any year of study. The student must have a high level of skill and appreciation of culinary management.

Cooking with Passion - Gary Lengyel Memorial Scholarship

Peter Lengyel and Guild Electric Ltd. Fnd (Andrew Lengyel) has donated funds for the establishment of the Cooking with Passion- Gary Lengyel Memorial Scholarship. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H411, H100, H116, H119, H402, H315, H316

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
  • The student must display passion for their field of study
  • The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

Cory Clack-Streef Memorial Scholarship

Friends & Family of Cory Clack-Streef have donated funds for the establishment of the Cory Clack-Streef Memorial Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H100 program in their Second year of study. The student must exhibit job-related social skills such as a positive attitude, enthusiasm, respect, care and concern for fellow students and industry partners.

Daily Seafood Scholarship

Daily Seafood Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the Daily Seafood Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H116 program in their Second year of study. The student must be self-motivated, passionate about learning and possess higher-than-average abilities.

Damoulianos & Papachristopoulos Hospitality & Culinary Arts Scholarship

The Damoulianos & Papachristopoulos Hospitality & Culinary Arts Scholarship is available to students in all CHCA Programs in their second year of study. The student must possess job-related social skills, including a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and respect. They must be self-motivated and a passionate learner.

Dhiyan Singh Pidair Memorial Scholarship for Culinary Arts

Rina Pidair has donated funds for the establishment of the Dhiyan Singh Pidair Memorial Scholarship for Culinary Arts. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H413, H600, H113, H108, H601, H411, H100, H116, H119, H134, H402, H315, H316

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must be a First Generation student
  • The student must display passion for their field of study

Donna Dooher Scholarship

Donna Dooher has donated funds for the establishment of the Donna Dooher Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must have a commitment to their field of study and demonstrate that they have overcome obstacles.

Dough Wines Student Scholarship

Dough Wines has generously donated funds for the establishment of the Dough Wines Student Scholarship. The awards are available to registered full-time students that meet the following criteria:

  • $2,500 x 2 awards
    • 1 for SHTM (H132 - Food and Beverage Management – Restaurant Management or H414 - Advanced Wine and Beverage Business Management)
    • 1 for Chef School (H113 - Baking and Pastry Arts Management
  • Preference given to students from equity-deserving groups who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or persons of Colour
  • Students must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Institution’s policies
  • Students must be of legal drinking age in the province of Ontario (19) at the time of their application.*

note: Dough Wines is an American-based company, that requires legal drinking age as a mandatory criteria requirement for all binding agreements that support student scholarships

E & J Gallo Winery of Canada Award

E & J Gallo Winery Canada Ltd has donated funds for the establishment of the E & J Gallo Winery of Canada Award. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H414

Edward Perry Student Bursary

Edward Perry has donated funds for the establishment of the Edward Perry Student Bursary. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for all programs in this category

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
  • The student has overcome obstacles to undertake their studies at George Brown College
  • The student self-identifies as any of these LGBTTQQIAP
  • The student must demonstrate leadership qualities through LGBT-related community involvement in or out of school

Esther Farlinger Award for Event Planning Scholarship

Dr. Esther Farlinger has donated funds for the establishment of the Esther Farlinger Award for Event Planning Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H111, H121 program in any year of study. The student must be self-motivated and passionate about learning. They must be open to learning from others and possess a deep commitment to working with others.

Esther and Sam Sarick Leadership in Culinary Management Award

Grapes for Humanity has donated funds for the establishment of the Esther and Sam Sarick Leadership in Culinary Management Award. Fairmont Serge Simard Award for Global Hospitality Learning

Nimi Simard & John Nadeau has donated funds for the establishment of the Fairmont Serge Simard Award for Global Hospitality Learning. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must display financial need

  • Student must have been deployed to a work placement or study abroad

Foodism Culinary Scholarship

Foodism Toronto has generously donated funds for the establishment of the Foodism Culinary Scholarship. The award is available to registered full-time students that meet the following criteria:

  • $2,000 award
  • Student identifies as Black, Indigenous, and/or Person of Colour
  • Student demonstrates financial need

GBC The Chefs' House Scholarship

The GBC The Chefs' House Scholarship is available to students in the Culinary Arts or Hospitality Program. The student must be self-motivated, passionate about learning and have demonstrated higher-than-average abilities within their program. They will have shown job-related social skills, including a positive attitude, enthusiasm and respect.

George Brown College Bookstore - Chefs' Drawer Award

GBC Bookstore has donated funds for the establishment of the George Brown College Bookstore - Chefs' Drawer Award. The award is available to students in the H100 program in their first year of study. The student must exemplify the first impression standard of conduct.

George Brown College Marriage of Food & Wine Scholarship

Marriage of Food and Wine Event has donated funds for the establishment of the George Brown College Marriage of Food & Wine Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in their first year of study. The student must be self-motivated and passionate about learning. They must have a commitment to their field of study and have job-related social skills, including a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and respect.

Gerry Nakell Culinary Passion Award

Friends & Family of Gerry Nakell have donated funds for the establishment of the Gerry Nakell Culinary Passion Award. The award is available to students in the H100 program in their second year of study. The student must display creativity, innovation, originality and excellence.

Giuseppe Pastorelli Award

Camillo Di Patra has donated funds for the establishment of the Giuseppe Pastorelli Award. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H411

Good For You Food Services Award in Honour of Michael Scheffler

Good for You Services Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the Good For You Food Services Award in Honour of Michael Scheffler. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H100, H119, H116

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must maintain a 3.5 Min GPA or higher

Greater Toronto Hotel Association Cooper Memorial Award

The Greater Toronto Hotel Association has donated funds for the establishment of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association Cooper Memorial Award. The award is available to students in the H100 program in their Second year of study. The student must have demonstrated innovation in their approach towards creating new recipes leading to the development of Canadian cuisine.

Helderleigh Foundation Food and Nutrition Award

Helderleigh Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Helderleigh Foundation Food and Nutrition Award. The award is available to students in the H119 and H402 program in their second semester or beyond. The student must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must have participated in extra-curricular nutrition programming, which may include the Helderleigh Foundation-sponsored initiatives and events.

Helderleigh Foundation – Lorraine Trotter Endowment Awards

This award is created to support the advancement of the education of students at George Brown College.  Two (2) awards of $3,000 each will be presented to two (2) full-time domestic students at the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Registered, full-time, domestic student.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must exhibit a strong interest and commitment to their field of study through their extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, and involvement in the classroom.

HM Wing Cheung Cheng Scholarship

Ms. Siu Mee Cheng has donated funds for the establishment of the HM Wing Cheung Cheng Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. The student must demonstrate a commitment to working in the hospitality industry along with community involvement.

HSBC Award for Excellence in Hospitality Scholarship

HSBC Bank Canada has donated funds for the establishment of the HSBC Award for Excellence in Hospitality Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. The student must be a top culinary student who is making a significant contribution to the program.

IMI University Canada MBA Pathway Scholarship

IMI University Centre has donated funds for the establishment of the IMI University Canada MBA Pathway Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H301 program in their fourth year of study. The student will be articulating to MBA at IMI and will have demonstrated initiative, scholarly accomplishment, and a sense of business intuition.

J. Charles Grieco Leadership Award of Excellence

The J. Charles Grieco Leadership Award of Excellence Award is available to students in the H301 program in their Third year of study. The student must be part of the REX's Recognition Program and have employment in the hospitality industry.

Jason Kuchinsky Memorial Scholarship

Bob Kuchinsky, on behalf of numerous donors, has donated funds for the establishment of the Jason Kuchinsky Memorial Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H411 in any year of study. The student must demonstrate financial need, Ontario residency and display a commitment to creativity and entrepreneurship in their programming/placement.

Joe Abes Memorial Scholarship

Friends and family of Joe Abes have donated funds for the establishment of the Joe Abes Memorial Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Hospitality Programs in any year of study. The student must have a high academic standing.

Joey Restaurants Leadership in Culinary Arts Scholarship

Joey Restaurants has donated funds for the establishment of the Joey Restaurants Leadership in Culinary Arts Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must demonstrate leadership qualities through Volunteer Community Service and have a commitment to working with others.

John and Pamela Hanna Advanced Wine and Beverage Business Management Scholarship

Ian Hanna has donated funds for the establishment of the John and Pamela Advanced Wine and Beverage Business Management Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H414 program in any year of study. The student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA along with a commitment and spirit of dedication to the study of wine and the wine and beverage business; job-related social skills, which include: a positive attitude, enthusiasm and respect. Demonstrates a sense of fun, enjoyment towards study, and cheerful outlook.

John Walker Scholarship

John Walker has donated funds for the establishment of the John Walker Scholarship. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre for Hospitality & Culinary Arts who are in their 1st Year for all programs in this category

  • The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
  • The student must be a registered domestic student
  • The student must display passion for their field of study

Joseph and Ines Miculan Scholarship

Doris Miculan has donated funds for the establishment of the Joseph and Ines Miculan Scholarship. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for all programs in this category

Judith Marie Wyles Scholarship

David Wyles has donated funds for the establishment of the Judith Marie Wyles Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. The student must have a demonstrated interest and drive to excel in the culinary arts.

King Street Food Company Scholarship

King Street Food Company (Buca, Jamie's Italian, Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse, The Saint Tavern) has donated funds for the establishment of the King Street Food Company Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must demonstrate academic excellence.

KITKAT Chocolatory Scholarship

Nestlé Canada Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the KITKAT Chocolatory Scholarship. This award is available to full-time domestic and/or international students registered in their 2nd year of the Baking and Pastry Arts Management program (H113).

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Demonstrates a passion for culinary desserts
  • Exhibits a commitment and spirit of dedication to their chosen area of professional study
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities through various means, such as volunteer community service and commitment to working with other
  • Has a program or cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

LCBO Scholarship 

Beginning in the 2023-2024 Academic Year, the LCBO Partnership – Spirit of Inclusion Initiative, will be offering several awards which cover the full tuition of the student recipients who meet the following criteria.  

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Must self-identify as a woman from a diverse background currently underrepresented in the beverage alcohol industry (examples include but are not limited to: Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, women with disabilities, first generation Canadians, LGBTQ2S+, and non-binary gender) 

Registered in one of the following programs: 

  • CAPS Certified Sommelier Program 
  • Wine Specialist Program 
  • Advanced Wine & Beverage Business Management Program 
  • WSET Level 3 Program 
  • WSET Level 2 Program 
  • Demonstrate financial need by providing proof of qualification for Ontario student Assistance Program (OSAP) 
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person  
  • Demonstrates leadership and takes initiative among class members throughout the course of study  
  • Preference can be given to those students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the institution’s policies

Lyle Issett Memorial Award

Barbara C. Issett has donated funds for the establishment of the Lyle Issett Memorial Award. This award is available to any registered George Brown College Student in the Centre For Hospitality & Culinary Arts in any year of study for the following program(s): H301, H311

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
  • The student must display passion for their field of study

Mandarin Restaurant Awards

The Mandarin Restaurant Franchise Corporation will provide financial support to the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts at George Brown College.  This gift will aid the division in its aim to provide high-quality education that meets the evolving economic, cultural, and social development needs of the communities it serves, enabling students to succeed in achieving their individual goals.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Registered, full-time domestic and /or international student or.
  • Have submitted an application for full-time studies at George Brown College and receive a GBC student number.
  • Enrolled in one of the following programs.
    • Culinary Management (H100)
    • Culinary Skills – Chef Training (H112)
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Must demonstrate a passion for their field of study and a commitment to pursue a career in the restaurant sector.

McEwan Enterprise Scholarship

Mark McEwan has donated funds for the establishment of the McEwan Enterprise Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. Nickel Brook Brewing Bursary

Nickel Brook Brewing Co. has generously donated funds for the establishment of the Nickel Brook Brewing Bursary. The awards are available to registered full-time students that meet the following criteria:

  • $3,500 x 2 awards
  • Student is registered in their first, second, or third semester of a program within the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts
  • Student demonstrates financial obstacles according to organizational policies
  • Student(s) receiving the scholarship will be eligible to participate in a (1) one day internship at Nickel Brook Brewing. This opportunity will commence at the discretion of Nickel Brook, given current COVID-19 restrictions

Odette Teresa Titone Memorial Award

The Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (CHCA) is offering a scholarship in memory of Odette Teresa Titone for students studying culinary arts at George Brown College in the Culinary Arts Italian Program (Postgraduate H411 Italian Cuisine).

Starting in the 2022-2023 academic year, one (1) award of $2,000.00 will be presented annually to one (1) student in the Culinary Arts Italian Program (Postgraduate H411 Italian Cuisine) who meets the following criteria:

  • Must be in good academic standing in the program
  • Must demonstrate financial need

Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants has donated funds for the establishment of the Oliver & Bonacini Inspired Quality Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. The student will be self-motivated and passionate about learning. They will demonstrate openness and cooperativity, pride in craftsmanship, organization, cleanliness, discipline, perseverance, and creativity. The student will be considered to be an ambassador of food culture and local/seasonal ingredients.

Ontario Chinese Restaurant and Food Services Association Scholarship

Chinese Restaurant Association-No Contact person has donated funds for the establishment of the Ontario Chinese Restaurant and Food Services Association Scholarship.

Ontario Food Protection Association Scholarship

Ontario Food Protection Association has donated funds for the establishment of the Ontario Food Protection Association Scholarship. The award is available to students in the H402 program in any year of study. The student must receive the highest mark in course related to food safety; the best project related to food safety; and have the most complete and accurate HACCP-based Food Safety plan.

Open Kitchen Toronto Female Culinary Scholarship

Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association has donated funds for the establishment of the ORHMA Leadership in Hospitality Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in their Second year of study. The student must show promise in the Hospitality and Culinary industry.

PH Food Company Culinary Leadership Award

PH Food Co. Inc has donated funds for the establishment of the PH Food Company Culinary Leadership Award. The award is available to students in the H119, H116, H100, or H112 program in their first or second year of study. The student must demonstrate leadership qualities through community volunteerism and commitment to working with others.

Primary Response Scholarship

Primary Response Endowment has donated funds for the establishment of the Primary Response Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must be considered to be a positive role model and peer mentor.

Professor J. Gellatly & Family Award

Sally McKendry Memorial Endowment Award

Pay McKendry has donated funds for the establishment of the Sally McKendry Memorial Endowment Award. The award is available to students in all culinary programs in any year of study. The student must demonstrate financial need, Ontario residency, and a minimum 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is designed for members of the Afro-Canadian and Caribbean community, preference will be given to sole-support parents.

This award is for a second-year or graduating student with the highest mark in the basic food safety course.

This award is for the student with the highest mark in the advanced food safety Certification Course.

Tony Jelenic Scholarship

Mr. Anton Jelenic has donated funds for the establishment of the Tony Jelenic Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Hospitality Programs in any year of study.

The student must self-identify as an Aboriginal student (First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or otherwise part of the indigenous peoples of Canada) and demonstrate financial need.

Unilever has donated funds for the establishment of the Unilever Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. The student must have demonstrated a dedication to their field of study and have overcome obstacles to undertake their studies.

The Villa Charities Culinary Scholarship - Supported in part by The Food Dudes

Villa Charities Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of The Villa Charities Culinary Scholarship – Supported in part by the Food Dudes. This award is for students enrolled in the Chef School at the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Enrolled in the 1st year of the Italian Program (Postgraduate) (H411)
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities through various means, such as volunteer community service.
  • Exhibits strong interest in their field of study and has a passion for future academic and professional goals in relation to Italian heritage and culture.

Wiley Leadership in Nutrition Award

Wiley Canada has donated funds for the establishment of the Wiley Leadership in Nutrition Award. The award is available to students in all Culinary Programs in any year of study. The student will have the highest overall mark. One award will be presented in each of the fall and winter semesters.

William & Nona Heaslip Foundation Scholarship

William & Nona Heaslip has donated funds for the establishment of the William & Nona Heaslip Foundation Scholarship. The award is available to students in all Hospitality Programs in any year of study. The student will strive for self-improvement and demonstrate creativity, leadership and organizational skills.

Wusthof Scholarship

Wusthof-Trident of Canada has donated funds for the establishment of the Wusthof Scholarship. The award is available to students in any culinary program in any year of study. The student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and is self-motivated, passionate about learning and demonstrate higher than average abilities in their chosen area of professional study.

Yes Chef! Scholarship

Centre for Hospitality & Culinary Arts has donated funds for the establishment of the Yes Chef! Scholarship. The award is available to students in all CHCA Programs in any year of study. The student must have leadership qualities, have demonstrated a commitment to working with others, and have job-related social skills, including a positive attitude, enthusiasm and respect.
