51 Division CPLC Scholarship

The 51 Division Community Police Liaison Committee has donated funds for the establishment of the 51 Division CPLC Scholarship. The award is available to all full-time students who have demonstrated a commitment to working with others. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • Student must reside in one of the following postal codes M4Y, M4X, M5B, M5A, or M5E

Aboriginal Post-Secondary Education Bursary

Ontario Government has donated funds for the establishment of the Aboriginal Post-Secondary Education Bursary. The award is available to aboriginal students in all programs in any year of study.

Aditya Jha awards - Entrance Scholarship

Aditya Jha / POA Educational Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Aditya Jha Entrance Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in their first year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

Aditya Jha Entrepreneurship Scholarship  

Aditya Jha / POA Educational Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Aditya Jha Entrepreneurship Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • Student must display passion for field of study and entrepreneurship

Aditya Jha Scholarship  

Aditya Jha / POA Educational Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Aditya Jha Scholarship. The award is available to all full-time students who demonstrate their passion for their field of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need

Alfred Eli Memorial Bursary  

President's Office has donated funds for the establishment of the Alfred Eli Memorial Bursary. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • The student must be actively involved in the Native Community (college and/or external)

Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs Scholarship

Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs has donated funds for the establishment of the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs Scholarship. The award is available to students in any program in first or second year of study.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.0   
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
  • Student must be member of Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs
  • Resume and paragraph

Children's Aid Foundation Scholarship  

 The Catholic Children's Aid Foundation (CCAS) has donated funds for the establishment of the Catholic Children's Aid Scholarship. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • A current Crown Ward who is eligible to receive or is currently receiving Continued Care and Support for Youth from CCAS   OR
  • Were a Crown Wards who received funding from the CCAS and returned to their birth family or were adopted.

Clifford Lloyd 40th Anniversary Scholarship 

 Joan Lloyd has donated funds for the establishment of the Clifford Lloyd 40th Anniversary Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college)
  • Student must display financial need

Context and Toronto Community Housing Entrance Scholarship 

 Context Development Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the Context and Toronto Community Housing Entrance Scholarship. The award is available to students in their First year of study. Preference will be given to applicants entering the trades program or a bridging program.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Dana and Doug Turnbull Scholarship

Dana and Doug Turnbull have donated funds for the establishment of the Dana and Doug Turnbull Scholarship. The award is available to all full-time students who were either temporary or permanent wards under the custody and protection of a Canadian Child Welfare Agency or Children's Aid Society.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need

De La Salle Bursary

Vince Thompson has donated funds for the establishment of the De La Salle Bursary. The Award is available to students in the Centre for Community Services, Health Sciences and School of Work and College Preparation (in augmented education program)

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
  • Write an essay on: Describing your community activities, as well as the obstacles you have overcome in their pursuit of post-secondary education

Donald Willard Moore Scholarship 

Donald Willard Moore Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Donald Willard Moore Scholarship. The award is available to students in the Nursing and Business programs. The purpose of the Donald Willard Moore Scholarship is to address the significant barriers that the Afro-Canadian and or Afro-Caribbean community faces in accessing post-secondary education.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Dual Credit Scholarship 

The Dual Credit Scholarship is available to students in all programs in their first year of study who completed a Dual Credit course with a GPA of 3.5 and are continuing their full-time studies at George Brown College the following year. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need

Eider Scholarship 

Redpoll Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Eider Scholarship. The award is available to students in the All Hospitality Services and Community Services program in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need

Elma McColm Scholarship  

Multiple donors have donated funds for the establishment of the Elma McColm Scholarship. The award is available to students in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • To any qualified students with a learning disability

First Generation Bursary   

The Ontario Government has donated funds for the establishment of the First Generation Bursary. The award is available to all students in any year of study who are first generation students.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need

Frank Sorochinsky Scholarship 

Frank Sorochinsky has donated funds for the establishment of the Frank Sorochinsky Scholarship. The award is available to all students in any year of study who have demonstrated volunteerism within the wider Toronto community. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

GBC Downtown East Scholarship 

President's Office has donated funds for the establishment of the Downtown East Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in their first year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

George Brown College Alumni Award  

GBC Alumni has donated funds for the establishment of the George Brown College Alumni Award. The award is available to full-time students in their graduating year of study who have demonstrated that they are devoted to leadership and peer success.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

George Brown College Entrance Bursary  

Various donors donated funds for the establishment of the George Brown College Entrance Bursary. The award is available to students in all programs in their first year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need

George Brown College Foundation Scholarship  

Various donors have donated funds for the establishment of the George Brown College Foundation Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need

George Brown College Opportunity Award 

The George Brown College Opportunity Award is available to all first-year who have faced obstacles. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

George Brown College Seniors' Association Scholarship 

GBC Seniors' Association has donated funds for the establishment of the George Brown College Seniors' Association Scholarship. The award is available to all full-time students. Applicants must submit a 1-2 page essay demonstrating their interest in their chosen field of study, and how that interest will contribute to future employability.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Hébert Award for Volunteerism Scholarship

 Margo Hebert has donated funds for the establishment of the Hébert Award for Volunteerism Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study.

Hope for Children Foundation Scholarship  

Maurice Conway has donated funds for the establishment of the Hope for Children Foundation Scholarship. The award is available to all full-time students who can demonstrate that they are either:

  • A current Crown Ward who is eligible to receive or is currently receiving Continued Care and Support for Youth from the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Toronto or
  • Students who were Crown Wards who received funding from the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Toronto and returned to their birth family or were adopted.

James Foss Ricci Endowment Award of Excellence

James Foss Ricci has donated funds for the establishment of the Jean Augustine Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study. To be eligible for the award students must demonstrate that they are sole support parents who have overcome obstacles in achieving their educational goals. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5   
  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Jean Augustine Scholarship  

Jean Augustine has donated funds for the establishment of the Jean Augustine Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs who are graduating .To be eligible for the award students must demonstrate that they are sole support parents who have overcome obstacles in achieving their educational goals. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need

Jim Turner Scholarship   

James Turner has donated funds for the establishment of the Jim Turner Scholarship. To be eligible for the award students must demonstrate that they have overcome obstacles in achieving their educational goals. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Joan Murphy Scholarship  

Multiple has donated funds for the establishment of the Joan Murphy Scholarship. The award is available to students in the RTE, For You and ACET programs in their graduating year of study. Criteria: Student graduating from RTE, For You, ACET or other programs serving students who have mental illness. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

Koehler Family Scholarship

Hope for Children has donated funds for the establishment of the Koehler Family Scholarship. The award is available to full-time students in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • Former ward of Catholic Children's Aid Society

Maurice Conway Scholarship 

Hope for Children has donated funds for the establishment of the Maurice Conway Scholarship. The award is available to students who have demonstrated that they have overcome obstacles while seeking success in their program.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Metis Nation of Ontario Student Awards program

Metis Nation of Ontario has donated funds for the establishment of the Metis Nation of Ontario Student Awards program. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • Student must be Aboriginal.

Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation Expendable Award  

Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation Award. The award is available to all full-time students in two years or programs, who have demonstrated that they have overcome obstacles.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need

Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation  Endowment Award  

Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation has donated funds for the establishment of the Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation Award. The award is available to all full-time students in second year or higher who have demonstrated that they have overcome obstacles. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need

Pepsi Bottling Group Scholarship 

Pepsi Bottling Company has donated funds for the establishment of the Pepsi Bottling Group Scholarship. The award is available to students who have demonstrated that they have overcome obstacles while seeking success in their program and who are judged to demonstrate a dedication to area of study.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0   
  • Student must display financial need

Positive Space Scholarship  

Various donors have donated funds for the establishment of the Positive Space Scholarship. To be eligible for the award students must demonstrate that they have promoted the recognition & celebration of sexual and gender diversity. Student must show commitment to creating a college community that is free of discrimination and harassment based on gender and sexual identity.

Project Hero Scholarship

Project Hero is a scholarship initiative to support the dependent children of fallen soldiers of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Registered as a full time student
  • A dependent of a Canadian Armed Forces personnel deceased while serving in an active mission or suicide attributable to military service
  • Under the age of twenty six
  • Maintain satisfactory academic standing, as per program requirements

Rudy and Rita Koehler Award  

Rudy & Rita Koehler has donated funds for the establishment of the Rudy and Rita Koehler Award. The award is available to students in 75% HS and 25% college-wide program in any year of study. Student must overcome obstacles; demonstrated academic improvement and/or educational achievements.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need

Scholarship for Aboriginal Students  

Funds have been donated for the establishment of the Scholarship for Aboriginal Students. The award is available to all full-time students who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or otherwise part of the indigenous peoples of Canada or as having Aboriginal ancestry or heritage. Student demonstrates willingness to help others and openness to learn, has overcome obstacles to undertake their studies.

Scholarship for New Canadians 

Funds have been donated for the establishment of the Scholarship for New Canadians. The award is available to students (PR, PP or refugee claimants) in all programs in any year of study. Student demonstrates willingness to help others and openness to learn, has overcome obstacles to undertake their studies.

Scholarship for Sole-Support Parents

Funds have been donated for the establishment of the Scholarship for Sole-Support Parents is available to students in all programs in any year of study. Student demonstrates willingness to help others and openness to learn, as overcome obstacles to undertake their studies. The student must be a single parent.

Simon Fiandaca Memorial Scholarship 

Hope for Children has donated funds for the establishment of the Simon Fiandaca Memorial Scholarship. The award is available to current or former ward of Catholic Children's Aid Society; demonstrates revolve to overcome obstacles and strives to do his or her best; demonstrates community involvement and the desire to help others. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Support Staff Supporting Student Scholarship  

OPSEU Local 557 has donated funds for the establishment of the Support Staff Supporting Student Scholarship. The award is available to students in any program in any year of study. Student must write a 1000 word essay on the subject of "What can Unions do to involve and engage young workers?"

Susan Stylianos Scholarship  

Susan Stylianos has donated funds for the establishment of the Susan Stylianos Scholarship. The award is available to all full-time students who are actively involved in the college as a peer leader or those who have a history of campus volunteerism

TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Alumni Award 

Alumni Association has donated funds for the establishment of the TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Alumni Award. The award is available to students in all programs in any year of study, who have overcome obstacles.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
  • Student must show commitment to field of study

The Coca-Cola Nicola Kettlitz Memorial Award

The Coca-Cola company has donated funds for the establishment of The Coca-Cola Nicola Kettlitz Memorial Award. The award is available to students in the school of Hospitality and Culinary Arts and Centre for construction technology. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Student must display financial need
  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
  • Student must demonstrated leadership.

Xerox Scholarship  

Xerox Canada Ltd. has donated funds for the establishment of the Xerox Scholarship. The award is available to students in all programs enrolled through SAVTI program or if ceases to operate, another program with similar objectives. Preference may be given student from program/services for Aboriginal students or students transitioning from College's

Yonge Street Mission Education Endowment Award 

Yonge Street Mission has donated funds for the establishment of the Yonge Street Mission Education Endowment Award. The recipient will be an active participant in a Yonge Street Mission program or branch and be a full-time student. The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  • The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
