Academic Upgrading for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Adults (A738) 2015 - 2016 Certificate Full Time

The Academic Upgrading for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Adults program is the only college program of its kind in Toronto, with all courses taught in American Sign Language (ASL). The program is for those Deaf and hard-of-hearing students who want to upgrade their English, ASL, math and computer skills for success in further education, training or employment. New students can join the program each month. There is no tuition fee for this program. The program is funded by Employment Ontario through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Academic Upgrading for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Adults (A738) 2014 - 2015 Certificate Full Time

George Brown College is a leader in education and educational services for deaf and hard-of-hearing people. This is the only college program of its kind in Toronto, with all courses taught in American Sign Language (ASL). The program is for those deaf and hard-of-hearing students who want to upgrade their English, math and computer literacy skills for further education and/or employment. Each course is specifically geared to the needs and interests of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Academic Upgrading Program (A737) 2015 - 2016 Certificate Full Time

Academic Upgrading is a tuition-free, full-time program for English-speaking adults who need to improve their reading, writing, math, science and computer skills. The program prepares students for post-secondary study, further skills training, apprenticeship or employment. Students have individualized learning plans based on their goals.For acceptance into the program, applicants complete a reading and writing assessment to determine their literacy levels. While in the program, students are provided with advising services and may be eligible for transportation allowance. The program runs year round and has a monthly intake.

Academic Upgrading Program (A737) 2014 - 2015 Certificate Full Time

Academic Upgrading is a free full-time day program for adults who need to improve their reading, writing, math, computer, and study skills. Upgrading prepares students for post-secondary study, further skills training, or employment. Students are placed according to assessment results and academic or employment goals in Literacy and Basic Skills Levels: Foundations, Pre-ACE, or ACE (Academic and Career Entrance). Courses in science are also offered at the ACE level. Students are provided with advising services and may be eligible for transportation allowance. American Sign Language – English Interpreter Program (C110) 2015 - 2016 Diploma Full Time

American Sign Language - English Interpreter is a three-year program that trains sign language interpreters. The program emphasizes skills in English, American Sign Language (ASL), translation and interpretation, and knowledge of Deaf culture. Students take many of their classes in ASL and do a substantial amount of their classwork in our on-site language laboratory. Students also experience community-based placements with working interpreters/ and with Deaf mentors.

The Assaulted Women's and Children's Counsellor / Advocate program provides students with a feminist analysis of the political and counselling issues related to violence against women and children. It trains students to be agents for change in their work of community education, political action and law reform. It prepares students to provide counselling and advocacy for women and children who have experienced or are experiencing violence.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year collaborative nursing degree between George Brown College, Ryerson University and Centennial College. This degree is a requirement for anyone wishing to work as a Registered Nurse in the province of Ontario. Following successful completion of this program, graduates will be eligible to write the Registered Nursing examination, and after passing, will be granted a Certificate of Registration by the College of Nurses of Ontario and be eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province of Ontario.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.) (S118) 2014 - 2015 Degree Full Time

A baccalaureate degree in Nursing is now required to become a Registered Nurse in Ontario. As a result, George Brown College, Ryerson University and Centennial College have developed a collaborative Nursing degree program. Following successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to write the Registered Nursing examination. After passing the examination, graduates will be granted a Certificate of Registration by the College of Nurses of Ontario and be eligible to practice as Registered Nurses in the province of Ontario.

To meet the needs of the construction industry in Ontario, the Angelo Del Zotto School of Construction Management delivers the province’s only degree program in construction management.
