School of Mechanical Engineering Technologies

Engineering plays an important role across a broad range of industries, from aerospace and automotive to telecommunications, health and entertainment. Our innovative programs will provide you with the solid technical skills and industry knowledge that employers value the most. You’ll gain real-world experience through participation in product design projects – last year our mechanical engineering students designed a collapsible wind turbine and an electric Vespa, and electro-mechanical engineering students designed a robot.

The School of Mechanical Engineering Technologies equips students with the most current technical skills and industry knowledge to become highly-valued and sought-after contributors to industry. With hands-on teaching and real-world experience with leading corporations, graduates leave here knowing how to work within interdisciplinary teams, stay ahead of ever-changing technology, and excel in any situation. Some programs include a work experience component, either as a field placement, industry project or co-op-style work term. Graduates can take their career in many directions - from manufacturing and engineering to product development and management in both industrial and government sectors.

"George Brown College is uniquely positioned within industry - graduates can go directly from the classroom on week to a high impact position. . . the very next week."
Jeffrey Timms, Vice president, Semiens Dematic Electronics Assembly Systems
