Program Comparison Help

Decision-making made easy! This tool gives you a breakdown of individual programs offered at George Brown College and how they differ from other programs you’re interested in. Use this tool to select up to 10 programs to compare, helping you make the right choice for the career you want.
Instructions:

1. Under Program Comparison, click Add a New Program

2. Search for one of the programs you’re interested in (either alphabetically, by interest or by job)

3. Click on the title of the program in the menu

4. Click Add to Comparison

5. Continue searching for programs using steps 2-4

6. When you’re done, clicking Program Comparison will give you a preview of the programs and the option to delete, add or clear all

7. Open Program Compare for more details and an easy-to-read comparison of the programs you’ve selected

Financial Services Diploma to Degree Opportunities

Opportunities for 3-year Accounting or Financial Services Diploma Students to Enter Bachelor of Applied Business (Financial Services) Program through "Articulation Agreement"

If you are graduating from a three-year Business Administration - Accounting diploma program at George Brown College (B107/B157) or other Ontario Colleges, this "Agreement" allows you to apply to the Bachelor of Applied Business (BAB) Financial Services - Accounting program (B321) at George Brown College and complete the program in as few as two calendar years of additional study (four academic semesters and one co-op placement). 

Agreement Terms and Conditions 

  1. Candidates must have achieved an average of 75% or 3.0 GPA for acceptance to the program.
  2. Graduates of a Financial Services - 3 year (6 semester) Accounting program will be granted direct entry to year three of George Brown's four year Bachelor of Applied Business - Financial Services Accounting Stream. The courses required at the degree level will be determined based on an analysis of the mandatory and business electives taken at the diploma level using the CGA equivalency documentation against requirements for the degree program.
  3. Prior to graduation from the degree program students must complete a total of six liberal studies elective courses. Students with 4 General Education courses at the diploma level with a grade of B or higher will require an additional 4 Liberal Arts at the degree level.
  4. Students must complete one mandatory co-op work placement prior to graduation from the degree program.
  5. Fifty percent (50%) of the courses must be taken at the degree level.
  6. The following are required third year courses:
    • BFPL2002 - Applied Personal Financial Management Software
    • BACC2010 - Applied Accounting Software
     

If you are graduating from a three-year Business Administration - Finance diploma program at George Brown College (B130/B150) or other Ontario Colleges, this "Agreement" allows you to apply to the Bachelor of Applied Business (BAB) Financial Services - Financial Planning program (B301) at George Brown College and complete the program in as few as two calendar years of additional study (four academic semesters and one co-op placement).

If you a student or recent graduate from another Ontario college, please apply through www.ontariocolleges.ca. When applying, please specify the program code by your choice of the stream: B301 (Financial Planning), or B321 (Accounting) and apply for the 5th semester.
