School of Computer Technology

We recognize that outstanding technical skills are just one factor in the equation that yields successful IT professionals. Our programs will allow you to also gain an understanding of the wider business impact of IT in order to become a valuable team member. Through industry field projects and lab work in a wireless environment, you will acquire the specific skills employers are demanding, using the latest computer tools and environments. In addition, we are an official CISCO Regional Academy, and we offer a number of specialized postgraduate programs such as Health Informatics, Wireless Networking and Business Analyst.

Today, few organizations make any major plans without thoroughly understanding the IT implications. IT professionals are now a key part of decision-making business teams.

At George Brown, we recognize that teaching outstanding technical skills is just part of the equation. Students also gain an understanding of the impact of IT on businesses and organizations that will make them a valuable and listened to team member.

Through group projects and intensive lab work, students develop fundamental IT skills using the latest computer tools and environments. Our IT professionals teach problem-solving methodologies as students learn to develop, program, and support information systems. We offer a solid combination of interactive lectures and applications-based learning that provides the skills employers are looking for.  Industry-sponsored assignments polish students’ technical ability and help them to develop vital skills in project management; client needs assessment and systems analysis.

Graduates are qualified in number of areas, including: business application development and support for Internet/Intranet, e-commerce, client-server environments, or information systems and network installation, administration and support.

Our fast-changing industry is continuously looking to attract and retain professionals who are quick to adapt to new technologies and processes, who can manage and lead project with minimum supervision.  We have worked closely with George Brown to produce these kinds of individuals, and found their graduates have the skills and education to make an impact in the workforce” –
