Our School of Social and Community Services started in 1967 in a very different Toronto than present day. Over the past 40-plus years, the
School of Social and Community Services has responded to the changing needs of the city through new and enhanced programs that reflect what is
happening in any given moment or decade.
As a student in any of the following programs, you will benefit from the most current information in your field. Your education will be both
theoretical, through classroom and group learning, and applied through your placements. Your focus will be on independent thinking, intervention
know-how, teamwork, leadership, community awareness and professionalism The result will be an education that gets you the job.

Autism and Behavioural Science (Postgraduate)
C405
This program focuses on autism spectrum disorders and therapies, mainly Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI), for application
within the children’s
sector. You will gain practical experiences working with families and treatment teams.
Behavioural Science Technology C116
This
three-year program provides you with an opportunity to study applied behaviour analysis and Intensive Behaviour Intervention
(IBI).
Behavioural Science Technology Fast Track C136
If you
have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field, you could complete the intensive Behavioural Science Technology program in one
year.
Career and Work Counsellor C109
This program is designed
for working career counsellors who require credentials, or those who wish to enter the field. This unique16-month program runs
year-round and is broken down into focused and practical modules.
Career and Work Counsellor C138
This is the fast track
version of C109, and runs 12 months continuously. If you are a college or university graduate seeking entry into the field of career
and work counselling, this program is good preparation. There is also an option to enter the program in January.
Career and Work Counsellor for Internationally Educated Professionals C129
Are
you an internationally trained professional? This To prepare you to enter the field of Career and Work Counselling, this program
builds on the skills you already have. Providing Canadian experience is a key focus of the program.
Child and Youth Worker C104
Learn the skills necessary to work with
children and youth who have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Community Worker C101
You will learn how to do community
and development work and help others at a group and systems level. This program includes an international summer placement in Cuba.
Social Service Worker C119
Through this innovative program
you will learn theoretical models, methods of Social Service Worker practice, training in group work, life skills, community organizing
and development. There are also two field placements.
Social Service Worker Fast Track C135
This
abridged version of the C119 program allows you as a college or university graduate faster entry into a career as a social services worker.
